I like that he said he fell in love with the club.
Already the right sort!
When you look at those coming through, Gubbins, Dalling, Duke-McKenna, Kelman and Kendall, not to mention Bettache, Alfa, etc we do appear to have a lot of very good youngsters developing at the club.
I've seen Alfa play a few times and he reminds me a lot of Eze's style and ability as a forward. Double footed (mainly right) and a good finisher.
Why isn't anyone on here saying how it would have been much better for him to continue his education at Yeovil where he'd get more first team opportunities? Eh? ;)
Bare bones.

He's the new Clive Allen.

Would not be surprised to see him loaned back to Yeovil to continue getting games if not them someone possibly League 2

Bit of pressure for Kelman and Bonne ..
How dispensable would we say Bonne was right now?
We're already not wedded to playing a two in attack - the minutes Austin's fitness leaves have tended to go to midfielders rather than a third striker. MW's also already said they're looking at replacing Bright's pace in the squad, and while that could be more of a wing-back it could also be a hybrid wing-forward type too (some of the channel surges in those Lloyd highlights wouldn't go amiss in fact...)
Then with the U23s, tying Armstrong down til 2023 would suggest a timeline's in mind (and been sold to the player) for any chance of a successful pathway. Plus Lloyd now.
You could argue keeping Bonne as backup in case of injury and loaning Kelman and the rest out would be safest, and it probably would. Playing it safe with Wszolek's last dead rubber year is mainly what got us into the Bright mess though - if the kids skip a level, you might just get caught out if the pathway's blocked and/or you're not lightning quick on the contract extension trigger.

Had a quick look at Brentford B team results and fixtures this season. It seems the idea with B teams is the ability to strengthen or weaken the team according to the opposition strength.
They played 35 games with approx 50 % of games against non league opposition and the rest against what looked like mainly Premiership club U23 games. In some games a couple of trialists were included in Brentford’s teams which I’m supposing could be over 23 yrs of age.
With the club recently installing a B team set up it could be a decent path for players like Alfie Lloyd to take without going on loan.

I think Brentford B usually play a lot of European opposition in various shapes and sizes, which obviously hasn't been open to them this season.

It is not all about loaning players out to improve, sometimes they need education at HQ, sometimes the coaches want to do the education. It isn't all about playing matches to improve.....sometimes a focused training session is better. Thought you might of known that, but maybe not.
Perhaps, he will get loaned but it isn't a given.

A possible song for our newest signing?
According to a post on Indyrs he played two games for the under 23, Southampton and another (!!) and scored against Southampton.
Meant to be highly rated by the club.
Also saw that Charlie Kendall ended up losing a tooth and had 22 stitches after an accidental clash with the goal keeper during a 1: 1 draw with Nottingham Forest. Ouch.
