On holiday and will miss the first game of the season in nearly 20 years. Kick off will be at 10am where I am, probably keep up to date with the score via BBC text, but to be honest I couldn't give a toss the way football has gone especially this close season. |  |

In all honesty, I want to be excitet but realy there is not much there to be excited about.
Have any lessons been learnt from last season?
As a kid I used to count down the summer days for Billy to stop messing about playing cricket and put his magic boots back on again and for SHOOT! to give us those leauge tables with the team tabs we could move up and down the league before we lost interest by September.
QPR were my local team and unlike my Liverpool supporting school friends, I couldnt wait to get back to the Loft and become part of the surge again.
I'm only 15 but old in my ways.
Now something isnt right with my/our club at the moment and I am worried we might struggle and we are all going to be at eachothers gonads about when was the right time for a change again and it goes round and round.
Anyway. I do hope you lot going to Loftus Rd this season have a banging time and you sing out loud for those of us who can't always be there.

In terms of Rangers, the overwhelming pessimism might be justified, but I think we'll be ok.
However, as for the rest of it, no! Where once we had a proper pre-season break, it seems to me there is no actual break and its just continuous saturation twelve months of the year.
As for the WC next year, not the remotest bit bothered! Wouldn't give two-turds if we didn't qualify. In fact, they can cancel it for all I care. Utter non-stop drivel from this October until early July next year. |  |

Not excited as such.
Pleased that the all encompassing shadow of football will loom over, and largely eclipse, the likes of tennis, athletics and county cricket again.
Not sure what realistic expectations I have for the season.
I guess I'm hoping we're good enough to stay out of a relegation fight. Can't see us troubling the top half of the table.
It would be nice if we were unpredictable this season.
I do fancy a couple of surprises though - I think Borisciuk could be one of them. |  | | |

I always look forward to that first game believing that over the summer break we have morphed into a well drilled, non stop attacking, never say die team of free scoring mavericks. I usually sober up by half time......

I've just moved to Berks and am frankly terrified at the prospect of a Swansea/Bolton first game of the season repeat.
