QPR team v Middlesbrough 14:24 - Sep 25 with 1681 viewsGreenbay

What team will Warbs pick for this Saturday's match against Middlesbrough? Of course we never know what's really happened on the training ground that's leads to his selections. Warbs is loyal to his team so despite the Wallace poor marking last week which directly led to Coventry's first goal - he's likely to pick the same team again. Remember injury-prone Wallace - despite his lack of pace - did well in the opening match against Nottingham Forest.
So it would be
Lumley
Kakay, Dickie, Barbet, Wallace,
Cameron,
BOS, Carroll, Amos, Chair,
Dykes,
My team would include two debut boys with heart in my mouth - Dieng and Hamaleinen.
So it would be
Dieng,
Kakay, Dickie, Barbet, Hamaleinen
Ball,
BOS, Carroll, Chair and Manning (yes left-sided midfield and yes we all know about the contract problem).
Dykes up front of course.
Dykes needs crosses and Manning can provide in his better midfield position and that would leave Hamaleinen concentrating on his defensive duties.
Smyth to come in later for his speed and Thomas looks a good solid acquisition. So those two on the bench along with Lumley, Masterson and Cameron or Amos.
Just a note. Warbs has done really well in his year-long spell in the toughest of roles. To pick up Wells and Hugill last year on loan was either a touch of genius or luck - more the former. So I've got a lot of faith in him - if only that defensive weakness from set-pieces is solved.
Ok guys - over to you.

Same as last week, unless there are injuries. George Thomas the one I think might get in if there is a change, probably for Amos.

Bare bones.

Same again. Unless there are injuries.

I would expect to see changes......Ball should be selected. Maybe Manning depending on his situation in the Club, Thomas may get a start as well. Jury is out re the keeper but he may just keep his place for another game.

Interesting times, tough team selections.

I think Ball will come in for Cameron. I don't expect to see Manning.

It's still the lack of goals from open play that worries me and I don't think Amos as the advanced midfielder is the answer. Would like to see Chair in that role with Thomas on the outside with the two of them interchanging to try to muck the marking up.

Agree, and Thomas' energy would render the need for Amos' press somewhat redundant. Think we lose so much having Amos at 10.

Agree. He doesn’t find space and show for it anywhere near enough. Your no. 10 needs to want to have the ball at every opportunity and work hard to always be an option to feet.

Also, Chair in the left is wasted because he doesn’t have the pace to beat a full back and the touch line gives the full back help. Get him in the middle of the pitch where he could jink either way and it’s a different proposition for a defender.

I also want to see more of Thomas.

GREAT point, Longsuffering. On fire tonight.

Dykes vs Hall should be fun. Given Hall’s past performances against strong centre forwards I’m very hopeful!

Just want Chair playing central not Amos.

Also a good point, Essex.

It would not surprise me at all, in fact, if a bookie offered me the bet I'd take it, that Dykes will score and Hall will score too!

I really hope we bring Manning back in. Seems completely daft to leave a player we own who no one has asked to buy out the side. Especially as he really is a very good player and can actually cross a ball.

Never knowingly right.

I'd go

Dieng

Kakay Dickie Barbet Hämäläinen
Ball Carroll
BOS Thomas Manning
Dykes

Really not convinced about Chair atm. Harsh on Wallace as he was very good against Forest but would like to see what Niko could do at LB.

I like Lumley but think Warbs has ruined him over the last year (maybe good for him long term) but we have just given Dieng a new deal so let's see what he can do.

I wouldn't expect Cameron to be left out so soon after being made captain, especially as we haven't played for over a week
On a different note, over the course of the season (if we even have a season) I expect to see the home and away results level out much more as there is no advantage to playing at home anymore, except less travel.
