Disagree. Terry isn't an answer to the back four as much as Rio isnt. Yes the back four were crap but Cole would have been just as isolated as Baines with that system. We needed to go wide far more, our only decent possesion came from going wide. With accomodating Rooney we lost Sterling being able to go wide, should have Lallana on for Rooney and we could have attacked with far more potency. |  |

Does anyone really think Terry has the legs to have got goalside of Suarez when Gerrard forgot he wasn't on Suarez' team and flicked the ball on to him. In hindsight Terry might have brought him down and got sent off though.

Seriously he is not good enough at International level and we need to move forward not backwards.
Agree though our defence is not good enough either.
Too many imports in our game. Agree they make our league exciting but it doesn't help our home grown players who never get the chance. The greed of SKY TV and the FA will make our game look like the 'Harlem globetrotters' in a few years, great to watch but would never make it on the big stage.

Complete rubbish. Terry couldn't defend any better than last night and Cole would have been as isolated as Baines constantly was. We needed strong but quick central defenders rather than Cahill and Jagielka who are good if it is in front of them but get them turning and they are in trouble.
Richards, Caulker, Jones even would have been better bets imo. Terry has been finished at international level for a while, as has Rio, why the fck would we want the same old has beens that couldn't do anything when they were younger let alone now? | |

this World Cup should have been about blooding as many young players as possible.
I can understand Woy wanting Gerrard, Johnson in there for their experience but they have had their day.
Get a squad of 23 young players together and say you lot are the core for the future.
We don't care if you loose but learn to play together as a unit and gain experience for euros 2016 and WC 2020.
No still they take Lumpard in the squad...surprised to see Woy still not sue if they can play together!!!
