Dion Sanderson on 16:45 - Jan 21 with 5801 views | HAYESBOY | Commented many times on other posts, I find this a strange loan for a centre back as we now know Jordy is close and now Kakay also back soon for back 3 cover. IMO we need a left wing back and its his team mate I would be more interested in, Ryan Giles. But, in Warbs we trust.

Ok that's probably correct as it's their offy but that's not what it states on the usually accurate transfermarkt site.

I guess we’ve come to take the back 3 for granted as they’ve played so well and been so resilient. The injury to Barbet against West Brom just goes to show how quickly things can change. Then if one of Dickie or Dunne gets sold we’ll find ourselves in the sh1t! I can see why Warbs would want to bolster the squad in that position. It just depends on whether Sanderson is happy to sit on the bench. [Post edited 21 Jan 2022 17:18]

Dion Sanderson on 15:56 - Jan 21 by davman | I like the idea of cover, but if Jordy's back, I am not sure that we should be signing another one with Masterson in the wings. That said he looked really good against us, so sell Dickie for £10m, then sign him for a couple of mil. Job done. |
Masterson isn't ready to step up, especially in such a critical season with promotion potentially on the line. Jordy is always one divot away from picking up an injury that puts him out for another 2 months. Then we're onto the comedic stylings of Dom Ball (love him) as our only cover at CB, should any of the regulars get injured or suspended. [Post edited 21 Jan 2022 17:53]

Kakay can play CB too, but I agree with you. Thought we should of brought in cover at CB in the summer, but despite a close call with Dickie's yellow cards we made it too now.

I wonder if this might hinge on how interested he is in being an option at both RWB and CB. If he's set on CB he could well be put off a bit by how settled (everything crossed) our current three are, but I could see him beefing up the defence at RWB allowing Albert to come on for 30 mins of mayhem as needed. Or he may have never played there and not be interested at all.

Come on Bklyn. I did some serious analysis above. He has played 25 times at RB and once at LB in his playing career. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I thought he looked by far and away their best player when we played them. It's taking a long time to get over the line, though, so don't think it'll happen.
Dion Sanderson on 14:10 - Jan 22 with 4068 views | numptydumpty | I was really impressed by him when we played Birmingham. Was clearly top defender on the day. Thought be good if he was ours, not our weakest position by any means but if one of our back three out , great back up,or more than that even.

Strange rumour that he is going back to Brum. If that was the case, why did they not leave him there? I think that means they want a "better" loan for him. He would be great, but who do you drop as they aren't going to lend him to us to eat the Jaffa Cakes Macauley Bonne has left in his locker... Still think that we should make do...

Dion Sanderson on 17:36 - Jan 22 with 3750 views | BklynRanger | Another very good argument from Albert to make do today that's for sure. Lung busting winning header and a block on the line a few minutes later. Can't do any more than that.

I think that the (rushed) inclusion of De Wijs on the bench, shows that Warbs is concerned about the back three breaking down and that we need similar quality to deputise if we are to stay at our present level.
Dion Sanderson on 10:00 - Jan 23 with 3322 views | Doudou87 | Squad rotation is very important 3 games in 7 days is demanding. It took a big effort from everyone yesterday. Today will be a rest day for the squad, light training Monday then game day Tuesday. Doesn’t give us much time to recover. Luckily Swansea have the same plus travel time on the day. Saying that Barbet has demonstrated that he doesn’t need a rest, ever!

But like CW at Cambridge; you send them for six months to see how it goes and then make a decision for the rest of the season. I suspect that if he comes to us he’ll get some games in rotation at least and in providing back up, he also adds competition. Is he cup tied? That barnet would look good at Wembley.

Dion Sanderson on 21:39 - Jan 24 with 1872 views | Stainrod | If we are going to be really successful we need rotation and competition. Dickie, Barbet and Dunne probably don't even look at the team sheet: they know they will be picked. The team for Swansea almost picks itself because there is no competition really. When you are winning you don't worry about that as a fan but with the current squad, if we lose a game suddenly the cry will go up: "How do we change it up? Oh wait, we can't..."
