Very good point, but I think it's the trajectory that is worrying most people.
I think we may be ok next season but we have to get the right manager and players or, as Clive has warned us, it could turn toxic very quickly. |  |

Well, ninth last year was a superb result in a tough league, a relatively new team and a club with a previous losing mentality. Then there's the manner of how this season has all gone wrong. Even with the injuries and unexpected issues, it's objectively been a poor season and has ended in chaos. |
I dont agree we have played some good stuff this season but in all honesty we nicked some games when we were on a run and last 10 games or so that bit of fortune did not stay with us.
Thought we were about the 10th or 11th best in the division.
Got thumped twice by Fulham, should have got more out of the Bournemouth games, well beaten by Sheff Utd, unlucky at home to forest, alright beat Luton twice, list at Huddersfield. Nicked it at home to WBA as they nicked rthe away game. Looked shaky at home to millwall and well done at their place. Won,t mention cardiff barnslrh or peterborough and nicked it twice v derby.
In all honesty could have been a lot worse.
Dust off and move on to next year.

You could also look at it as over the past 2 years we've put together a perfect promotion winning season, and a perfect relegation season, all whilst staying in the same league over those two years.

Did we get thumped twice by Fulham? The game at KPF was 2-0 to them and one of those goals was a ridiculous penalty decision. They were clearly the best team in the league by a long way. 7-0 is a thumping, which they handed out a few times.
As has previously been said, I think most of us concerned about the direction of travel of the team rather than where we finally ended up. [Post edited 9 May 2022 12:47]

- We get 66 points but win the League Cup
- We get 65 points but win the FA Cup
- We get 50 points but win both the FA and League Cups?

Since relegation in 1996 QPR have finished in the top half of the Championship on 9 occasions (96/97, 99/00, 04/05, 08/09, 10/11, 13/14, 15/16, 20/21 and 21/22)
2 of those were under Warburton and this season was the first time we've been in the top half of this division in consecutive seasons since Venables was manager
If we finish top half next season it will be the first time we've done that in this league for 3 years in a row since 1983
We've only finished higher than we have this season 5 times since 1996

the chumpionship is a tough league , 46 games ( odd how we rush our season and the 38 game prem lge is still going on for more weeks?) most teams have had prem lge status and some have a "history" on cup success.
big fees may be over but it is the wages they will tell for most clubs. signs are we have stabled and cut cloth as need be. the days of a Odemwengie are over ( players driving to our doors for vast wages for nothing) . | | | |

We certainly played some good football last year but even then we had a problem scoring four or more. This season I can only recall the 4-0 over Reading as good as it got. By comparison Peterborough, Luton, Birmingham, Preston, Bristol City all hit five in a match and Blackpool got six. Most of those sides finished below us and it says something about our forward line not scoring enough hence so many one goal victories along the way. |  | | |
