Is Chris Willock OK 22:19 - Dec 17 with 4385 viewsNorthantsHoop

To me today again Chris Willock looked out of sorts. He is either struggling with his injury/fitness still or has lost form. He had a poor game against Coventry, which obviously down to coming back from injury, but we are now 5 weeks on from that and the break, last week at Burnley poor performance. Still hopefully will get his game firing soon.

I think he just needs a proper run of games.

Never knowingly right.

A) He's getting up to speed after an injury and let's face it, he set the bar ridiculously high at the start of the season.
B) He don't want to get injured before his move
C) He's gone a bit Michael Owen and don't trust his body so isn't doing the things he was doing.
D) We're over reacting

He will be fine.

He quite often has had the odd game where he is not present.

Happens to the very best.

Merry Xmas Christopher.

May your festive season be plentiful and full of odes of joy !!

He'll be fine, he'll have his match fitness and his mate back by Cardiff.

Missing Illy, simple as.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

I was there today and apart from a bit of poor finishing, I thought Willock had a good game.

I thought he was a bit better today, bar the missed chance which you'd usually expect him to bury - might be a confidence issue, not trusting his hamstring, poor form etc, because look how he snatched at that and compare it to his finish from the same spot with a harder chance at Derby last season.

There was far more effort and endeavour from him today although not much quality. Getting his form back will require maintaining that work ethic.

A step in the right direction.

I'm looking forward to seeing that flick thing back he did near the corner flag.

I thought he was quite good really. Fine margins and all that.

Agree though he has a good game. No real concerns from me

Bare bones.

Yes a bit better. 4 or 5 v Burnley, more a 6 today but still our 'poorest' player, perhaps,' least effective' might be kinder/more accurate.

2 + 2 = 5 alert!

NC said pre match that it is important to recognise players have lives/problems outside football - wonder if the 'problems' bit applies to one or two including CW?

Pure speculation/drivel/nonsense of course!

He’s protecting his hamstring for sure. If it goes again this season that’ll be his chance of a big move gone, possibly forever.

What I liked about yesterdays method of play was it reduced the dependence on Chair/Willock availability.

As others have said he's just coming back and he's was better than in the previous game (they all were).

Also, protecting himself I would say and the coaches are protecting him as well. Les and Hoos have probably said, don't let him get injured, we may need to sell him soon.

He's in the last 18 months so, really if he does not sign a new contract now, we need to sell him now in Jan. These next few weeks will decide where Willock wants to be as it will be his choice.

If no contract is signed and we cannot sell him in Jan, then he will run out his contract.

zzzzzzzzzz
