Findus Pancakes
Although tried them again as a grown up when they were relaunched and they were awful things

Witchetty

When you reach the place beyond thoughts, the only thing you'll find is love and the only purpose of life becomes to ease the suffering of others.

Birdseye Potato Waffles so waffly versatile!

Butterscotch Angel Delight for me as a nipper. Absolutely delicious. Tried it again recently. Absolutely vile.

Never knowingly right.

Large bowl of creamy mashed potatoes, a few fried eggs chopped in and a load of mint garden peas and sweetcorn kernels mixed in to make every mouthful a taste and texture explosion.

The grass is always greener.

They have killed Angel Delight making it sugar free.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

Like everything else FFS.

Never mind the naturally occurring sugar, have some chemicals instead

Mother, was a great cook. So virtually everything she put on the table was eaten with much enthusiasm.
S'funny, after reading the above, one thing I didn't like were her chips.

Fray Bentos steak and kidney pie. I’d fight anyone to be able to scrape the tin.

My Nans Saturday tea ( basically a fry up)

Sausages Bacon Egg Chips Beans as a kid (didn’t go for mushrooms tomatoes etc). Her chips were honestly the best chips I’ve ever had, made in the chip pan absolutely unreal. The waft of a silk cut coming out of the kitchen while she put it all together.

My Grandad coming back from work and giving me £1 for writing the full time results on the fixtures in the back of the paper so he could check his pools coupon

Then my Nan turning the Telly round from the front room to the dining room so me and brother could watch The A team while we all had dinner with my Mum moaning that we shouldn’t be watching the TV ( she now lets mine get away with murder, Grandparent perks I guess)

Take me back

Boiled gammon and parsley sauce, champ, and peas.

Was always the first meal I'd have when I'd return home to visit my folks and for my last weekend in the family home after my mum died, I made this dish. Enjoyed it with a Guinness. I teared up making it, while I was eating it, and when I cleared up afterwards.

I was in Ireland earlier this year and had it in a restaurant outside Dublin. I wrote to the chef afterwards because he absolutely 'kin nailed it. I thought if I went to speak to him afterwards, I'd have made an eejit of myself.

Chocolate Angel Delight.

Butterscotch Shirley?

The introduction of supernoodles was an exciting time - a colourful packet of processed chewy joy. Almost like an apology for sitting through years and years of boiled potatoes - steamed up windows and the extractor fan contributing nothing.

Saying that, between 1987 and 1989 I mostly ate only toasted cheese and ham baps. Taken up to my room where the air was slightly less humid.

My nan's cheesecake. None of this biscuit base nonsense, this was warm, straight out of the oven, golden brown on top, melt in the mouth delicious.

I also loved it when my mum was making a cake and eating what was left of the mix from cake bowl.

Oh, and ditto butterscotch Angel Delight!
