I've not started a match thread before, but I thought f*ck it, why not? v Saints 17:12 - Feb 23 with 34072 viewsW7Ranger

Saints are hitting a decent bit of form at the right time, but we've been conistantly solid away for a few games now. Ronnie will be up for this!

It's got a 1-1 all over for me - which will be a very respectable result if we can go on and nick a win v The Blades on Saturday. Would delighted with a 7 pointer this week...

COYR's!

I don't like to blame injuries completely but christ, a club our size just hasn't the strength in depth to play through this sort of injury list. Too many less than average players on the pitch and the bench as shown tonight.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

Don’t get too high, don’t get too low - a sentiment i agree with,

But which other Champ team have a 5-0 and a 7-0 shellacking in them every season, and no cup run whatsoever, all of which is almost expected.

We are a very tolerant lot, and Ruben keeps us a float, but it’s not circling a drain it’s just total stagnation.

Corner to us. Time for a lap of honour to celebrate it!

16th…

It’s calling.

Has been for a while. The odd win thrown in now and again, has just papered over the cracks running through the whole club. It's the lack of standards that sadden me the most.

So basically with 3 game weeks we just can't compete.

You made it sound like him and Kone were playing awful and are responsible

No I was saying rest them but to be fair every single QPR player tonight has been dreadful.

Good passage of play there. It's a crumb but nevertheless it was good to see.

There are plenty of candidates to blame tonight, but I am heartily sick of Saito. He offers nothing and should never play for us again this season. Look to offload him ASAP.

There's a few players out there who have no business playing Championship football. Saito definitely one of those. All of the development squad boys look horribly out of their depth. I had hoped Morgan might step up but he looks pretty clueless. Please let's not sign any more Australians. They're rubbish.

Unfortunately, I feel that this result actually shows where we are as a club at the moment on the pitch.

This is just so, so unacceptable.

Unprofessional.

Too many injuries.

Varane should have come on for Madsen.

Park the bus until half time. Park the bus at the start of the second half seeing as it’s our favourite time to concede.

Disappointed in Hayden, his experience should have meant more in this game.

Its one game.

After 7 - 1 loss to Coventry, we beat Charlton 3 - 1.

Basically though three goals with a goalkeeper who hadnt lost his confidence in this particular game, we dont concede and we matched them most of the first half too.

Am erasing tonight from my memory banks.

What the hell is going on ?

The players are not even in the right positions, or giving it all for the team

This is a total and utter shambles and it is on the whole lot.

How Saito is still on the pitch defies belief. Even if it means a change of formation he should have been hooked at half time

Un-professional

Because how many goals came down his side.

Vale just doesn’t see danger, and the other bollocks behind him is worse.

It certainly is a steep learning curve but we have made one or two steps up. What we really need is a big , strong wonder-kid to come through to dominate his position. We need to genetically engineer one.

There's just this malaise that runs through our whole club and always has. We win a game and then the attitude is "Oh that'll donus for 3 weeks". I'm 53 now and I don't see it changing in my lifetime. Softest club in professional football. Embarrassed.

All the big athletic boys end up in the premier league academies. We get the waifs and strays left. We simply can't compete.

Except that:
- Southampton haven't actually been that good.
- We look like even if the entire Soton team left the field, we still wouldn't score, in fact, we'd probably concede a sixth by slicing one into our own net.

Abject.
