Southampton haven't yet denied these allegations!
For anyone who doesn't know Boro caught someone with some very sophisticated cameras and recording equipment spying on one of their training sessions.
Apparently Boro are looking into the possibility that Saints have done this to other teams this season.
Nightmare timing for the EFL. I can't see any way for them to fudge this

Pathetic statement by them: as if anyone believes what they say. Clearly did the same things to numerous other clubs but sadly looks like there’s no evidence. I hope their measly 4 points penalty for next season gets at least quadrupled. |  | | |

What they are completely ignoring is the Saints fans. A lot of them are very angry and embarrassed by the whole Spygate thing and want the club to clean house, starting with Eckert.
On the other hand everyone will be watching Saints closely next season. It would be interesting to see if Eckert could keep this great run of form he has been on going without the help of cheating.

The club could sack him for gross misconduct and they wouldn't have to pay compo or give him a notice period.
Systematically breaking the rules ought to be enough grounds for that.
Any sensible club would wait for the FA investigation to play out then sack him regardless of the verdict.
Instead the Saints owner is digging his heels in and thinks Eckert is "a super-talented manager."
But he probably thought the same thing about:

Unless they systematically assisted them and he has evidence they did it in other games. if that came out in an employment dispute they would be in deep do do. Better to let the FA do it for you.
