| PSR breaches and compensation 14:39 - Jun 10 with 6621 views | KensalT | I think this deserves its own thread because it 'might' have implications for us. Everton has been ordered to pay Burnley £40m compensation because it's PSR breaches in 2021/22 gave them an unfair advantage over Burnley in the relegation battle that season. Everton are going to appeal. I think too much time has passed for Derby to make a similar claim against us, but I will bet they are looking hard at their options However, Derby's own PSR breach in 2020/21 arguably cost Wycombe relegation that season. So Wycombe might have a case of their own against Derby. | | | | |

I’d love to see a hologram Macca battering Mark Hughes one more time.

Macca did his most damage close up I reckon. The first person who realised he got hit was Hughes. Didn't he open his calf up once when we played Man Utd? I think it was retribution for something else, it took Mark Hughes about 20 years to get his revenge back on QPR, using Kia to help line his pockets

It was hard to watch Macca and Hughes and believe there were only four elbows between the two of them! I didn't mind that side of Hughes, but the really bad side of him was that he was notorious for falling down clutching his face, pretending he'd been elbowed or head-butted - three times against us (with Macca or Maddix the imaginary culprit) and once against Montpelier (I think).

| PSR breaches and compensation on 15:27 - Jun 10 by DWQPR | And it’s about time that all PSR rules are scrapped. Worst thing that has ever happened to football. Allows the rich to get richer and the smaller clubs left behind to rot. Let club owners spend what they like and shoulder the debt themselves. If they can afford and are happy to lose millions then that is their right, as long as the club survives. The amount of clubs that get into financial trouble nowadays are no different to the amount of clubs that got into financial trouble in the 70’s and 80’s. |
Totally agree with this as it is a restrictive practise which would not be legal in any other sectors of the free world. I'm surprised it has never been challenged in the high courts.

I think there need to be some rules though. Otherwise its like The Enhanced Games, where that billionaire nutcase wants to create an Olympics where everyone can take performance enhancing drugs! I think football needs some safe guarding around it, so that club owners cannot kill clubs by going for broke. I don't know how they would do it though, there would need to be some kind of check on the owner to see how much they have and can sustain losing, no one would sign up to that would they?

It is feasible and could be safe for clubs if a bond system, like the one which exists in the world of mining, were introduced for new owners. With the mining bond system, prospectors need to deposit a substantial sum of money in advance of all works. This is to cover the cost of restoring the land to as near as possible to its original state in the event of the mining company going bust. Alternatively, you abandon the current, income based system - which favours the big clubs - and introduce a salary budget, the same for all clubs. All pie in the sky, of course .
