Turn and face the strange – Preview 5th Nov 2025 10:08
Southampton are changing their manager again, QPR are rotating their team to death, so it’d be a brave match previewer to try and call tonight’s meeting at Loftus Road. 2

Cheers Clive!

Everything points to a defeat tonight, come on QPR, prove me wrong for once.

Thanks Clive - yes, the Rs are rotating the squad so much, I feel like I've had 7 pints of ESB.

Indeed, but to put it back into a Gallic context, will it turn out to simply be a case of "plus ca change..."?🤔

Qpr_Hibs, genuine question;
Why would you play Vale as a 10 behind Burrell in preference to Chair?

JS did allude to Chair being given that role and position( although he has yet to start there) and Vale has barely managed a pass to one of his own team mates in his last 3 appearances.

I do agree Kone is playing too deep and is having no real effect in that position. His first touch isn’t great, he doesn’t win many headers and if he gets a bit of open space, he hasn’t got the pace to get himself forward and into a shooting position, before being caught by a defender and having to look for support. Personally, I would drop Kone for Chair and play Saito and Smyth out wide, with just Burrell up top.

Thanks for the match preview Clive , looking for a big response tonight, hopefully we will get some pace back into the team tonight, speed up top and at the back don’t half help to make a difference

Thanks for that, Clive.

Agree - this is a big game for us. We have to make decisions about ourselves, and it will be hard to make decisions about our oppo.

I wonder if MadBen fancies a visit to the Lynch’s xmas gig in Dubai…

His timing could be better for that than in some tackles.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Nice one Clive - I would be happy with a point. We seem to have been sussed out by opposition managers and teams so maybe throw a curveball in like a 3,5,2 tonight.

Thanks Clive. Looking forward to tonight.

Fandab Edozie, nice.

"Of the six managers to have picked a team under Sport Republic’s ownership of Southampton, only Russell Martin has been able to win more than two games."

WTF, that is mental.

Thanks as always.

One thing to note re: squad rotation. JS had players like Camavinga, Raphina and Doku at Rennes!

Very different kettle of fish at QPR.

"George Hirst’s weekend rampage means no team has conceded more headed goals than QPR this season (7). The next worse is Derby, Swansea and Ipswich who have all shipped five.'

With a CB playing at RB and Steve Bould's grizzled old head coaching them all week.

Unbelievable.

From a defensive point of view, I can't say that I've seen anything that suggests Bould is adding anyting
