There does not seem to be any downside to this deal. Pace can cover for other weaknesses in your game, e.g decision making and concentration. Not only for the individual but also for others making poor decisions around you.
I remember in a World Cup game against Ecuador, Ashley Cole used his pace to cover across an error on the right to challenge and prevent a 1 on 1 chance. At this level in particular it is a great advantage to have. Hope he can help stop the opposition from creating chances from our attacking positions. Happened to often last season. | | | |
