Thought Taz had a good game and caused their LB no end of trouble, turning him in and out time and again. We all know attack is his strength and he showed it today, plus a perfect cross for backpostmoss to bravely head in.
Tamworth’s front line up caused us no end of troubles first half, physically not seen Eels so up against it for a while. Great header for their equaliser by the big lad.
Second half i thought Tamworth really tired, the running was gone from the legs, red faces all around and that eventually helped our cause.
Singh was up to his time wasting from the first minute, seen it so often against us now you have to applaud his art, he is just not too slow enough each time to get 76 warnings but no cards from the ref. Was surprised only +4 at the end.
Watching Hendo leave Tommy Tonks in a foot race was funny.
Watching Ollie boot it out for a throw for Tommy in the dying embers not so.

The problem was (& could continue to be) is that Tamworth just played basic balls over the top of our defence which their forwards could chase down, I thought we were slow defensively & didn’t switch on to their tactics. Needs sorting out if we are looking at going straight up… |  | | |

We create so many good positions and fail to trouble the keeper. Yet still scored 3!
Thought Barlow was really good after coming on and Allarakhia played well too.
Would sign that no.27 Lynch who they have on loan from Luton. Great movement and a real threat all afternoon.

Certainly not being critical of a lad who has been brilliant for us this season and certainly answered any doubt associated with the signing of a 17 year old Keeper ,he will not be happy with the goals he conceded yesterday..,
No keeper is happy to be beaten by a header directly above his head as he was with the first and it was obvious from were I was sat directly behind that goal that his angles were certainly poor at best allowing him to be beaten easily at the near post for the second goal | | | |

The reality is we haven't scored anywhere near as much as we should have done this season, it was masked, for a long time, by our our excellent defensive record. Rodney has 7 goals in a top of the table side, 1 more than Kyron Gordon and 2 more than Hendo who has barely featured. We could really do with him going on one of his goalscoring runs until the end of the season . | | | |

Rodney is frustrating of course, but it's why he's playing at this level. On his game he's unplayable - if he did that consistently for even 60 minutes a match he'd be playing in League 1 at least.
Against Scunthorpe at home he was excellent and that'll be needed again this week. | | | |

In the first half both lads up to caused us problems in behind. Less so in the second half when it was pretty much attack against defense. We wasted so many good chances and on another day we could have scored six.
East had a fantastic game and ran the show in midfield. Allarakhia offered some threat down the right and his ball for Moss' goal was excellent. The number 10s are not giving us enough at the moment. Whilst I thought Smith deserved to start he is probably better as an impact player. Rodney is not the player he was towards the end of last season, which is a real shame. 7 games to go an a week closer to having Tobi and Gilmour back. |
Rodney and Smith were poor. Smith is a far better impact sub when the game is stretched - his overall play isn't up to much but a decent finisher at times. Rodney blows hot and cold so much he's one of the most frustrating players we've ever had. He's the most talented player we've probably got but goes hiding in games far too much. There were loads of occasions in that 2nd half where he could make forward runs into loads of space behind but just did nothing - he should be demanding the ball with his pace and power but he doesn't. So disappointing. |  |

Well pick the bones out of that.
As the season has gone on we have conceded more chances and more goals and have had to pivot to a we’ll score more goals than you approach. Not good for the heart.
How do re tighten the defensive screw? My only thought is I wouldn’t want to change shape to try and achieve it. That we appear profligate in front of goal but still average nearly 2 goals a game is testament to the way we play the game and the quality in the team. Talking of which Hendo, pure class.
Couple of clean sheets now please lads.

First national league side to 30 wins … two more than York.
Hendo rolling back the years… composure personified.
We make life difficult for ourselves though. Taryn was terrific today but on 3 occasions his cross drifted over the bar when it should be closer to the penalty spot!
Rodney could easily be our ace card in this 7 game run it.. my observation is with Smith also in the side he has to play deeper, receives the ball back to goal and his obvious threat is nullified.
Weds is huge .. I do think we will need a win If we are to keep the dream alive of finishing top.
Credit to Tamworth they came with a plan and executed it… hoping they are equally as organised when York travel to Tamworth for a tricky game on a plastic pitch.
Just cannot see York slipping up at home now so having to look at the final 3 away fixtures they have remaining - Boston Tamworth and of Course Dale. | | | |
