Not such a top keeper though sadly.
He was arguably better than Vorm after his injury. A Jack Bastard who's never let us down and he's been part of some of the most memorable moments in the clubs history. The 2-0 against Arsenal and the small matter of our only major trophy spring to mind.

The Treminator was outstanding in the COC run, although he could have smoked a box of cigars at Wembley. He wasn't too shabby at Arsenal.0-2 Michu either. Loved every one of those games that season ðŸ˜

Another cracking servant to the club who doesn't get the credit he deserves by some imo.
As Res mentioned in the Mesa thread regarding attitude etc, you would assume it works on the other foot aswell, a cracking bloke whose very popular in and around the dressing room. Hasn't he been bought back by three different managers??

Good luck, Mr Cooper

No chance he was ever better than Vorm, which is why he hardly ever played.
A ‘stiff’ of a keeper who cost us in Europe if i recall.
Waste of money ‘cos never seriously challenged for the first team shirt. Playing in u23s last year with a young keeper on the bench sumed it up for me.
No doubt he is a nice bloke. If we are wanting nice blokes then fine.....

He's picking up a lovely Swansea accent too!
Yes indeed :-) That was quite a nice little clip. One thing I noticed was that Rangel has a stare like a sparrow hawk! Must have frightened the hell out of the lovely optician staring into that abyss. Never play a game of Who Blinks First with him ;-)

I thought when he had an long run in the team due to Vorm's injury, he was very good. He only looked suspect when he was brought in for odd games, but you'll see that with almost any reserve keeper.

This.
Vorm's form wobbled significantly after the injury (one of the main reasons Fabianski is here now) and Tremmel deputised more than ably. There were more than a few calls at the time for him to keep his place in the side.
For all the whining about his appearances for the u23's it's quite obvious given his introduction into off field activities that his footballing knowledge is well thought of at the club and he was seen as a suitable "old head" to guide the kids.

What do you mean "he never let us down"? He did it all the time.

That was the season after though.
He was always poor. He made basic saves and that was about it. He conned a lot of our gullible fans into cutting him extra slack with his exaggerated story about turning up randomly to the pre season tour.
A journey man goalkeeper in an inferior league who cost us a relatively simple path to a European semi final. And he's still milking a wage off us to this day. Perhaps somebody got too close to his wife too?

i'd say the main culprit who cost as a simple path to the Europa league semi final is starting for us up front today.
