The reason that it wasn't reported and the reason the person who goes by the name of Tommy Robinson got charged was because there have been numerous trials not one and defendants have been involved in more than one trial with different co-defendants.
Therefore the judge would have made an order preventing reporting until all the trials were finished. Therefore filming the defendants when there is a reporting order in place is a serious contempt of court where the defendants could claim that they could not get a fair trial if it had been reported that they had already been found guilty of this offence already.
Equally they could not claim to the jury that they were of clean character because if they did a bad character application could be made by prosecutors to show his previous relevant convictions.
As Jackfath has highlighted this type of grooming and coercive behaviour is also likely to take place in any community where troublesome children are ignored or trivialised by those in their communities. |  |
