Myself, and others in our street which runs alongside the Swansea to Paddington main railway line are currently suing Network Rail for devaluation of our houses because of Japanese knotweed. We are using a 'no win no fee' solicitor. Apparently knotweed close to your home can devalue it by 20% or more. | | | |

I second this. Jo has worked on two properties for me after Tim's recommendation and, by coincidence was a friend of mine. She also dealt with the solicitor and mortgage company for the buyer to sort out any issues. |  |

Unfortunately it can be worse than that. 99.9 % of mortgage companies won’t lend if knotweed is by a property. I know someone who sold their house 5 times and it fell through everytime because all the buyers couldn’t borrow the money. They were hoping for a cash buyer but even they won’t buy because of the struggle to sell it on. They have taken it off the market now. | | | |
