Is this the charming young lady who vowed to fight to keep Wales in the EU after the Welsh people were going to vote to stay in at the referendum?

Apart from the obvious fact that the hapless fool is so out of touch with the Welsh people that I'm sure that she genuinely believed her own words and assessment of the situation, she went strangely quiet for a couple of months after finding out that she didn't represent the wishes of the Welsh public before piping back up as if she hadn't noticed the referendum result in Wales and has continued making a fool of herself ever since.

plaid cymru...... 100 years of achieving diddly squat.

It must really hurt being part of the self proclaimed party of Wales but yet being three and a half times less popular amongst the Welsh public than the 'hated tories' in the General election.

Thing is ....Leanne is right.

68 % of welsh voters did not vote for pro Brexit Tory.

Euro elections far more welsh voters voted Remain parties than Brexidiot parties.
Also Plaid beat labour in Wales for first time ever.

Poll after poll showing Wales is now heavily Remain.

Brexit is a recruiting sgt for Indy Wales.

After the Senedd elections next year, Adam Price will be first minister.
And the unionist status quo is dead.

No doubt you believe this nonsense about Adam Price and no doubt if/when you turn out to be wrong someone will happily remind you.

Oh and a simple reminder about the election, we have no idea who amongst the voters for any party are pro leave or remain. Brexit played it's part but very many Labour voters simply could not vote for Corbyn. Not many voted for Plaid either and on that, your numbers easily be wrong. Bojo got 36.1% Corbyn got 40.9% but poor old Price only got 9.9%, hardly an endorsement for Price.

The Euro elections is not something you can easily judge anything by, the turnout was less than 38% so maybe 62% didn't care enough to vote but 32% of those who did chose the Brexit party. Going by previous arguments and the dodgy way figures were used, over 70% of the electorate don't really care about the EU and/or want to leave.

The polls say many things but how many polls predicted Bojo's big majority? Most said the tories would win but not with a "stonking mandate" as Bojo described it.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

My numbers are pretty much the facts.

Your opinions are well ... just opinions ....

There is no England and Wales narrative about the Tory landslide.
Only England voted Tory.

My opinion is that the Senedd election next year will see big change, and brexit will simply increase the size of the change. Cymru Rydd. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Your 68% is a fact is it? Well seeing as it's wrong how can it be a fact. Seeing as 36.1% voted Tory your number should read 63.9%. Not a big difference maybe but it just highlights the arrogance of those who believe they are right and anyone with another opinion is wrong. The exaggeration of the numbers is a symptom of this, a symptom of politics actually where people tell all sorts of lies to justify their opinion and the argument is usually pretty simple, I am right but you are wrong regardless of the truth.

The Tories doubled their seats in Wales, wiping out the Libdems and taking seats from Labour in the process. Your much vaunted Plaid didn't make any gains though.

The highest turnout for Assembly elecyions was 46% in 1999, less than half the electorate yet for the GE this year it was over 66%. Using your logic, at it's best that means 54% of Wales doesn't want the Senedd. Plaid managed 12 seats but the tories 11 (in the GE) so if there is massive change next time, considering the Tory surge, it is possible that the Tories will gain several seats but at who's cost?

We'll wait and see, your opinion will be tested. A lot will depend on how Bojo does in London I reckon. If he surprises us all and does well things may not go as you predict. However, with Drakeford in charge of a dismal Welsh government we may see turnout hit a new low. Just a thought.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Plaid are only broken and weak so it’s a 33% improvement in fairness.

Trampy.

Can you explain once and for all how Wales will fund itself should we become a truly independent nation?

I'd love to know what Leanne has planned for this.

Thank you and a merry. Christmas.

Its easily fundable.

No need for HoC, HoL, Royals, Trident replacement, no illegal wars to fund In iraq/afghanistan/syria, no heathrow expansion, no fecking biased BBC, no hs2, no cross rail, no tax cuts for the wealthy, no bankers bailouts, and no east coast rail.

Taxation paid in wales for those who operate businesses in wales, like Tesco etc, fair market price for exported water (£6.4 billion), fair payment for exported power, and benefit economically from rejoining EU immediately, thus avoided negative Brexit impacts.

Thats just for starters.
Wales will be 100 per cent renewable energy within 10 years.

And wales will win the Euros.

We wouldn't generate anywhere near those figures...it's fantasy,we 're too small a nation.

Anything we did generate through GDP would be gobbled up instantly by the Welsh NHS and education alone.

Infrastructure and many other needs,we would not have a pot to piss in.

We need to suck the teeters of Westminster unfortunately.

There are many independent countries of similar population size to Wales, some of the following are a bit smaller or a bit larger but in a similar ballpark.
Singapore, New Zealand, Slovakia, Rep Ireland, Iceland, Luxembourg, Malta, Uruguay, Croatia, Norway etc etc

Agreed but their net GDP is a lot higher as they produce more.

The EU may not accept us because we do not meet this requirement.

Historically wales has been a net creditor to the UK Treasury, if companies based in Wales have their head office in London then it gets classed as money generated in London when that clearly is not the case.

Of course the EU would have Wales if Wales choose to remain in it, as per the Secretary General of the European Commission when talking about Scotland and as per the Vienna Convention on the Law of International Treaties.

Nope.

Don't you think that your argument is a bit like .... well, that made by many an abusive husband....?

The husband keeps the wife short of money, and then calls her poor.
She says she is leaving him, and he says nobody else will want you ... you are too poor...

And we all know she is only poor because of the husband, and that her only option is to leave him.

Westmonster will never help Wales.
Wales has to help itself.
