We seemed to have 5 - 6000 at Sunderland a few seasons back.
We filled the away end with 3200 and had a good few thousand scattered around the ground.
All hospitality taken by our lot too.
That was a game where we stayed at the Hilton next to the ground and had a meal there in the evening. David Moyes, Sunderland manager at the time was sat on his own on the next table.
Nice fella, but not many smiles in him. | |

I was at Preston in 1981 with 10000 Swans fans then later that year at Liverpool with another 10000 in the ground and hundreds locked out. Two outstanding memories for me.
In contrast I’ve been at Hartlepool in the mid 1990s with around 40 other Swans fans watching a 4-2 defeat I think it was. 😂 | |

Don't know if there was 15,000 of us there though, twas many moons ago. If I've got the right game we beat them 1-0 in the cup. It was Liverpool v Noel Dwyer and Draper scored the goal. Lost next round to Preston in the pissing rain, deserved the win but their centre half humped it forward, it took one bounce and over our keepers head. That was played at Villa Park.
