| Regardless of your politics on 10:47 - Apr 7 by NotLoyal | After falling, it's good news so far, but without the power of a time machine it's obvious his ill health will affect matters dramatically. |
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/top looks like this mornings gains were made straight after the markets opened to me. "As soon as the news was announced the economy fell dramatically." what metric caused you to say this? [Post edited 7 Apr 2020 10:53]

It would be nice to think that Boris would be more compassionate, aware of the great work of the NHS etc, but is he really capable of such empathy? I fear he would simply believe he was a messianic untouchable (a strange combo, I know).

Jeez, the fact upon the announcement of Boris going in to icu the markets fell. What happened afterwards is stuff in the future after I posted. As I said (third time) my belief is if he passes away the market will tumble. Lottery numbers for Saturday anyone? [Post edited 7 Apr 2020 14:36]

| Regardless of your politics on 20:55 - Apr 7 with 731 views | LeonWasGod | I don't see why on either point. It's obviously bad for him, and presumably for his close family. It could be very bad if Raab has to take over, but he won't for any period other than as a stopgap. They'll appoint a new leader and then we'll carry on, maybe without the influence of the likes of Cummings (so things would improve) or still with that same mindset (so things would carry as sh*tly as they have so far under Johnson). So the markets and economy wouldn't change much in any meaningful sense. There'd be a bit of a hiatus, but given he's not an especially effective leader so I don't see that being a major issue - from the outside it looks like they're managing to carry on much the same with him stuck in ICU. Obviously there's be ripples, but he's far from irreplaceable. It would be a huge news event though, obviously. | | | |

I think the tories would be screwed without him. Not because he's any good, but instead of having someone stupid, selfish and opportunistic with a degree of charm, they'd have to settle for soneone stupid and selfish with an added tablespoon of downright nastiness. He's not coming back anytime soon anyway. ICU is there to save your life. It's not a cure or a treatment. You have to do that all on your own and it'll be a long road whatever measures he's been subject to in ICU. He'd be off his trolley to stress himself out before he has sufficient recovery time. I really hope he doesn't. It could damage him for the rest of his life, assuming he gets out of the woods he is currently in. I can't imagine what his poor lady friend is feeling.

All of them. https://www.express.co.uk/fina There are other examples of things in the past but some are post the past you refer to which for a short time made them the future. Even the future you refer to is now the past but not as far back as the past that I referred to. I hope this helps. [Post edited 8 Apr 2020 1:01]

from your link "At 6.50pm the Pound was valued at $1.23093 however it has since dropped to $1.22416. (having corrected the Express typo) The value of sterling has also plummeted against the euro following the news. The Pound was trading at a high of €1.14053 this afternoon against Europe's single currency but has since dropped to €1.13369." --------------------------------------- A drop of 0.5% against the dollar and 0.6% against the euro is pretty insignificant, particularly in the current climate. As mentioned previously the £ regained those loses and more as soon as the London market opened a tip you may find helps you going forward - STOP READING THE DAILY EXPRESS!
