Being poor is all relative, what about Southern Europe, India, Africa etc? Like I said earlier, what is classed as poor in SW Wales is relative luxury in other parts of the world. Why do you think so many immigrants try to come to the UK? All that time in the EU and we end up with 9/10 of the poorest regions by GDP. 20 years of devolution and we end up with 9/10 of the poorest regions by GDP. So obviously it was the Tories fault. I wonder where we'd be if for just half of the last 25 years we'd had a Labour government...oh hang on!

Hasn't it been Welsh Labour that has directed the majority of the cash to Cardiff and it's surrounding area. Instead of improving conditions for those poorest areas?

Yep there's that but didn't Blair also deliberately divert cash meant for Wales to the North of England somewhere? omeone with a better memory of the willingness to search might find that, there is this though, https://www.walesonline.co.uk/

Er, I don't think so. He wasn't some "innocent", random, local dog-walker. He was a far right supporter from out of town. Up for a brawl, I imagine, with the BLM/far left idiots. None of the above, though, excuses his murder. Away with you and your clownish comments. A plague on both their houses, I say. Edit: Turns out he probably was local. This from the NY Times: Who was the man who died? The man’s identity has not been released. He was wearing a hat with the insignia of Patriot Prayer, a far-right group based in Portland. The group says it seeks to combat “corruption, big government and tyranny, using God for strength and the power of love.” [Post edited 30 Aug 2020 18:40]

Wouldnt know that pater, I live oop north, have done for over 30 years. What I can say is that the labour government poured millions into the sure start project, a project to 'educate' the people of run down areas to look after themselves and their brood therefore stopping the rot. This scheme was working very well until it was stopped abruptly in 2010 by the tories along with the conniving lib dems when they came to power. This was just one scheme to get the working class back to a decent footing but the tories as a rule do not like this and as we have seen with these extreme lot in charge its only going to go one way.

So, let me get this straight, my comment was clownish? Regardless of where he was from, you have no idea of his intentions. As the video shows he was just walking along the street and was cold bloodedly murdered from a distance. No provocation, no face off, no brawling, just a member of a "far right" group that uses God for strength and the power of love. And you call my comment clownish. OK. [Post edited 30 Aug 2020 19:32]

Being oop North for 30 years you have missed a Welsh government that has poured vast sums into the South East corner of Wales and left the rest of us to largely stagnate. At one point for every pound they spent in Swansea they spent 7 in Cardiff, I don't know the current ratio.

“Er, I don't think so. He wasn't some "innocent", random, local dog-walker. He was a far right supporter from out of town. Up for a brawl, I imagine, with the BLM/far left idiots.” .... The key word of that paragraph is “I imagine”. This is the issue with bias and emotion, all rationale and sense goes out the window and instead of using facts and the reality of the situation - you create your own. Supporting the President of the United States doesn’t make you are a bigot up for a brawl and a shootout and neither should waving an American flag with the name of a sitting American President make you a target for violence. A man was just murdered for essentially walking down the street, and your reaction is that he must have been asking for it. [Post edited 30 Aug 2020 23:28]

(1) I knew, even as I wrote the words "I imagine" that you would seize upon it, like a starving dog. It was bait. You took it. Predictably. (2) I never said, or implied, that "he was asking for it". (3) The whole tone of my post was that I have no time for the extremists on the right or left. You chose to ignore this. (4) If it had been a BLM/Antifa chap who'd been shot dead you most definitely would have made excuses for their murder. (5) Don't give me any more boll*x about my bias when it's as clear as day that you are a fat barrel of stinking, right wing, excremental bias.

1) So you imagined a scenario, completely concocted in your own mind to blame a murder victim for his own death... just for bait to troll on a forum? ii) That’s either incredibly sick or a really odd way of recognising the glaring error with your thought process and not wanting to back down. I’ll think better of you than the former and go with the latter on this one. iii) The fact you felt compelled to make the correction to your post after the facts emerged shows it was not bait or trolling. 2) You said he wasn’t innocent and was up for violence. Same thing in my book. Entering into a violent situation means you willingly take on those risks (including possibility of being catastrophically injured)... this wasn’t the case, the man was simply walking in peace. 3) Your tone of post was to paint everyone who supports the President as some sort of bigot looking for trouble. 4) That’s an assumption, and an incorrect one. A horrific example of the type of thought process you have where thought is simply driven by bias and emotion. If anyone is killed for their beliefs simply minding their own business I would condemn it a thousand fold, regardless of if the murderer held similar political view to me or not. You see, that’s the benefit of using fact and data as opposed to emotion to form views. 5) There is not a biased bone in my body, I am against bias of all kinds. As I keep telling you, my views are on the side of common sense, always. So you could say if I was to be biased, it would be that my bias lies with the side that represents that. I did tell you emotion would always play it's part. That last bit, sorry but that's not true. There is not one person that isn't biased in some way about something. That'd be the unconcious bias that has been discussed. Here, try this out, https://implicit.harvard.edu/i

Regarding politics? Why would I have any kind of conscious or unconscious bias towards political opinion. If my Dad was Trump or something then yes, maybe you would be right. But I assure you that’s not the case, I don’t know any of these people and probably don’t wish to. Politics is a topic where you agree or disagree. It’s not like football where someone makes a bad signing but you support them anyway, not for me anyway. I couldn’t care less whether people say I’m right, left, Democrat or Republican - the fact is I’m neither and none. I agree with what makes perfect sense, bias in any direction means I am making way for emotion over sense. Which is dangerous territory as we have seen on this page alone. In terms of other biases, I have preferences not really biases. I don’t believe in unconscious bias, it’s innate preference. [Post edited 31 Aug 2020 12:17]

None of that stands up. The use of rough, raw, or offensive language is, to my mind, perfectly legitimate in a debate, as long as it's used to subtly season a sound argument. If it's over-used it becomes tedious, of course. Chaucer, Shakespeare and Jonathan Swift, amongst others, knew the value of crude, vernacular expressions, and used such "foul" language to great comic effect, and one of its chief assets is that it irritates namby-pambies such as yourself. You can't even spell "language-challenged" either, or construct a decently shaped paragraph. You're all over the place, mun 🤣
