All the indications that he will be ready for Championship football at least to replace Guehi 2021-2022. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/fo

Mark of champions is to scrape through the odd tough day, if you're inching over the line every week it's a different story. Played most of today against 10 men and made tough work of it. Need to start playing well and winning again soon. |
Great 3 points again today poor game but still winning Cooper outstanding the lad we got from Swindon is one for the future Twine Dolan been a revelation at centre half got tooth ache today apparently

The games I watched earlier in the season Shephard was fantastic. Twine's definitely surprised a few people. First XI very strong for the division but rotation will be needed if everyone's to stay fit playing twice a week. Already a few out. Hoping Aaron Lewis gets some games down either wing before too long. Missed his chance with Lincoln this season by picking up an injury with Wales u21s (when he was really good), others jumped the queue while he was out.

George Best take on David Beckham. He was a good player but limited, he made the most of what little he had, he perfected whipping in crosses from the corner of the penalty box as he couldn't beat a man and get to the byline, even if he was able to knock a ball past someone he won't then have the pace to run past them.

What a bizarre tweet. The tweeter thinks that because he considers Waddle to not be in the top ten thousand players of the last 40 years his opinion on Beckham isn’t valid. I doubt the tweeter is in the top ten million players of the last 40 years so his opinion, by his own definition, isn’t valid. Not the sharpest, is he?

I have said in the past 6ft centre halves worry be but this fella leaps like a salmon, more than holding his own with the rigours of league 2.

He's 6'1, compared to Guehi and Naughton he's on stilts. Didn't have Connor down as a corner specialist (his crossing from open play is poor quite honestly) but him whipping balls into Cabango and Cooper on set plays would get us more than our fair share of goals. The one area where both were clear improvements over Joe Rodon in development football.

Few lads who support County around by me reckon he is the business, they’ve watched Ben White over there aswell. I always liked what I saw of him on the little I did watch of u23s, we need to get this contract sorted because he walks into our side next season.
| Brandon Cooper development on 17:29 - Nov 20 with 673 views | KeithHaynes | Great news for Brandon. From the EFL site. On-loan Newport County defender, Brandon Cooper, has been named October's EFL Young Player of the Month. Having only made his League debut in September, the 20-year-old's fine form contributed to three clean sheets last month as Newport moved to the top of the Sky Bet League Two standings. Speaking exclusively to the EFL upon receiving the award, Cooper was naturally delighted to have been recognised for his performances. "It's a great honour," he said. "Personally, it's a proud moment for me, and hopefully I can carry on churning out good displays. I think it's down to the manager and the faith he's shown in me since my debut against Scunthorpe. "He's given me an opportunity to show what I can do. It feels like I've been at Newport for ages already with the games coming quickly, but I'm loving every minute of playing for the club and manager." October also brought Cooper's first professional goal in his side's 2-1 win over Harrogate on Halloween, but it's at the other end of the pitch where he takes true pride from his work. "I was delighted to score a late winner in that game, it was an important goal and a bit of a relief to get off the mark. But I've got a little list at home of my clean sheets, I'm ticking them off and trying to set myself some goals. "We kept three in a row in October, and each time it's like scoring a goal for us defenders and goalkeepers. It's a great feeling to get your job done. "We'd love to get into League One for next season, it would be unreal. It's a long old season and so we can't get carried away; we've got to just rack up the points and keep doing what we're doing." The youngster is grateful for the opportunity given to him by his parent club, Swansea City, and says he is already feeling the positive effects of his loan, but is determined to stay grounded. "I'm benefitting massively. In the short time I've been here, I've learned so much already and so many players have come into League Two and used it as a platform. If I can do anything in that direction, that would be amazing, but I'm focusing on the present and winning games for Newport. "I've grown up with Swansea, having been there since I was six, so if one day I can have a successful career there, that would be great. That won't happen unless I don't focus on the here and now." Congratulations, Brandon! | |
