| The action taken by Swansea City Supporters Trust 10:16 - Nov 21 with 18620 views | KeithHaynes | It’s been an interesting topic for sure, which does sometimes spill over in to other threads, and understandably so. I've taken some time out to look at the specific action taken. It’s my understanding that this is very clearly down to specific issues around the weeks leading up to the sale of the club by the old board. The exclusion of the supporters trust in the sale and despite the trust wishing to be involved were excluded. That’s the basis of the action. For it to be a valid action the statements of truth gathered by the ( plaintiff) other words are used to describe them have to have some depth in law. Clearly the trust haven’t gone ahead to freeze assets and this is another topic which needs clarification. This action is not against Swansea City FC, as it was then or is now. The claims being brought are not against the club. They are against those individuals who sold the club as they were, not the club as it was, nor as it is now. I think this should be a key area for people to dwell upon. I would have thought both sides ( and there are many sides named because it isn’t one entity) will have already disclosed at least some, but not all of their paperwork similar to criminal cases ( CPIA it’s called criminally ) As there is no fixed date as yet for a trial my understanding is full disclosure has to go ahead before any trial. I think that’s around eight weeks prior. That aside, it still seems to me to be pretty clear the various named persons will either have to settle to some extent prior to any trial date or go ahead and defend the action. This isn’t as a whole being but as individuals. For example, Jenkins and Dineen will be separate defendants as will the rest of the then board. Any award will not be paid for by the club but by the individuals from their own personal wealth, if of course they lose the action. That will be measured by percentages, but I’m pretty certain won’t amount to the actual money lost by the trust when the sale went ahead. That’s my take on it, please discuss that here folks, give it some thought before pressing enter, there are clearly some differing stances on here, which is healthy and as I would expect in a society where personal interests and views will always be different. If we can keep the topic on this thread it will be an interesting discussion. | |

We both know I’m right but I’ll take my hat off to you, the lengths you go to on your disinformation campaign knows no bounds. Unfortunately for you, I, and a lot of others on this site, see right through it. But please don’t stop Lord Haw Haw. |
I believe the Trust going to Court is a very bad idea and have argued against it. For starters they cannot afford it. I have tried to justify my argument with discussing out comes and the financial losses and gains to be made by legal action. I have investigated some weaknessess in their case which are there whether I point them out or not. The judge said legal action was a "last resort". That to me equates to eating the family dog. For my trouble I have been called "insane", "Leigh", "Leigh's brother" , now "Lord Haw Haw". Its not really fair but hey ho.

Have you looked into potential holes in the Americans / sellouts defence then? Seems you can make incredible leaps of faith&forgive their actions but dig up every dirt possible on the trust. So its completely understandable why he'd call you that

You have been black balled by someone. This idea will stick in people' minds,at least on here and PS because one infamous individual thinks you are LD. Similiarly,I have tweeted my support to you.! Yeah ,honest. Nearest Ive been to Resolven was about 20 yrs ago and I was breaking the speed limit too,at the time. I agree with you on this point. We disagree on others ,which shows we are good posters and do not take sides-I dont stick up for anyone per se. Neither do you and good for you. This subject is now festering like a bad boil and it needs to be lanced but seemingly that will not happen for a while yet so it runs and runs. Meanwhile,we are top 4 and trying to get back to Prem league which is far more important. I read the Trust "could" benefit by 5m. Just about peanut value these days. Look at the state we 're in.

But they could benefit by a lot more than that too. Look at it with a balanced view. Not just domesday scenarios. You keep going on about it festering. Surely the best way to get it over with is to go to court and get it out of the way.

Chief, you carry on questioning and don't let anyone put you off or throw personal insults at you. Resolven can't even answer the question as to whether HJ and MM lied and decieved. Just keeps on going around and around the same issues critising the trust and putting the sellers on a pedestal as bastions of honesty and integrity who only ever had the clubs best interests at heart. He is just a joke , who shouldn't be taken seriously. I'd have more respect for him if he actually was LD (I still think its likely or a family member), sad if he is just a fan with that attitude.

It's a fair point Chief but I simply do not see it as the right way to go. We cannot really add much so I think I'll butt out of this topic now but you're a good poster and we didnt't really resort to abuse . stay frosty and be safe

I support the US takeover of Swansea city. I like their vision for the club in being sustainable and doing their best to keep the academy going and continuing to produce quality players . I have never bought in to the Anti American assest stripping hedgefunder rhetoric. They are doing a decent job and pay the bills. The transition from PL to Champoinship team seems to have gone seemlessly and expertly with no significant new debts. The club has stayed top 30 throughout. They are loaning the club money through the covid 19 period. The sellers gave the Trust x100 returns on their investment and put a buyer in front of them with cash. It is not their fault the pair could not make a deal. For the Trust to fail to get a deal was bad business. Some of us have a keen eye on the ball and are not distracted by spin and posturing. I see no reason for the sellers to be taken to court. They have done a real good job with the Trusts shares. Even Cooper today has praised the club and the players coming through from the HJ M era. The Trust s shares even now are 50- 60 times what they invested. I do not buy the betrayed victim rhetoric.

Mate.Res HAS been call out as LD so the damage is done and the person who put it out there is poison. Res says he isnt so unless you or anyone else can prove he isnt then c;est la vie. As for family, just what has this got to do with his family unless LD had bought them all villas in Sandy Bay,Barbados. I am not chum of Res but he is getting unwarranted crap for his views. If people do not like his views or anyone else's then put on ignore -as many do.

| The action taken by Swansea City Supporters Trust on 18:36 - Nov 23 with 820 views | Catullus | Lets address this being the "last resort" shall we? The last resort, in legal terms, doesn't mean desperate, unwarranted or bound to fail. It means that every other avenue has been exhausted. Resloven, you always want to ignore that the advice is the trust have a good case. That they have tried all other avenues first is not a bad thing. Going to court is always a big move even if you are sure of victory. Resloven, what if, just if, the outcome is good. The trust wins and it doesn't impact the club. The trust banks some cash...I won't even try to say how much, that's the judges job, and we all move on happily ever after? Why are you sao keen to trash the trusts chances? Why are you so keen to trash their motives? Why are you so keen to defend the previous owners? You can keep on going but nobody is having it,are they? I don't know that it's the best move, it may turn out to be a bad thing but at least after the courts have dealt with it, it will be put to bed and we can move on. Many were suspicious of our new owners but things in their respect have turned out better than many expected. All most of us want now is the truth. Maybe that's the problem as far as the previous owners ar concerned, maybe when the truth comes out they will be embarrased? On the other hand they could be exonerated. We shall see. | |

- ok but they have downgraded the academy already. And youve acknowledged that was a bad idea. - i have an open mind on it. Im happy to be told theyve taken nothing out. - do they pay the bills? - the other day you were saying they loaned us money to get a good price for Rodon. Now we know that didn't happen youve changed your story. - The sellers did the complete opposite of that. They sold their shares without letting the trust know until it was too late. The Americans have admitted being compliant in that scam. - By that same token its a poor business by the Americans not make a deal too then? According to you they wanted the trusts shares but couldn't get the deal done. If the Americans came into club with the intention of buying the trusts shares why didnt they simply bid for them at the same time as they did the sell outs? There is simply no innocent explanation that can explain their stalling.

That last point is a good one. Unless you were on the trust board or are the sellers or the buyers none of us fans can say 100% for sure what happened. The closest we are going to get to that will be the court case. If it exonerates the Americans, great, it'll restore trust in them to a lot of the fanbase in people who own the majority in the football club we support. If the sellers get exonerated we can go back to loving them unconditionally again!

Not necearily.Try accepting the fact some people have different viewpoints. Some shocking defamation still going on unmoderated . We will never move on action or no action. If the sell outs win and the court accepts their argument then where does that leave those posting truly horrific defamatory stuff. I cannot believe what Im seeing. Clearly sticking up seems a south Wales trait
