| Has the world been conned over COVID-19? 09:53 - Dec 13 with 33360 views | A_Fans_Dad | The actions of Governments all over the world are shaped on the basis of the PCR COVID test results. For months now there have been serious question marks over the accuracy of the tests. Well now there is a definitive study on the original research and it's world wide adoption which is totally condemning. https://www.globalresearch.ca/ This does not decry the deaths that occur with COVID-19, but there are also many questions over the counting of them as well. | | | | |

How they can keep a straight face when they announce harsher measures due to rising cases is incredible.. I'm looking at the test authorised in Wales for the week commencing 7th September, it's 58,860 now looking at the public health wales website, yesterday they published they carried out 19,837 in just one day..

They have no other option really, and my guess is the way things have happened, without question, no one will question that either.

I'd defer to the Prof who has mentioned the accuracy of these on here a number of times. It's his job. As far as I know false negatives are slightly more common than false positives. I'd certainly trust him more than a conspiracy theorists article. Also a study by Prof Alan McNally compared PCR with lateral flow in students leaving Brum last week. Bearing in mind that lateral flow gives more false negatives than PCR the results were extremely consistent. Plus of course there are the people who have actually had the virus and its pretty much unique symptoms. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I am sure that you of all people will appreciate the weasel words in this so called fact checking piece. It makes a very interesting read. https://fullfact.org/online/ca This part is of particular interest despite their so called explanation of why the tests are "accurate". Quote "This is quite a departure from the norm. Over the course of the nine week programme so far, out of almost 17,000 pools tested, 252 pools have tested positive. Of those 204 were confirmed positive with subsequent individual testing, while 44 subsequently tested negative (these were apparent “false positives” being referred to) and four were still awaiting individual results. " By their own words 44/252*100 = a 17% error rate. But of course they try to downplay it by saying "In total, across the nine weeks, 0.3% of pool tests conducted have produced a positive result that was then followed by negative results in individual follow-up tests." Using of course the Total number of pool tests (17000), not even the number of pool tests that week (1937) and not the number of pools that were positive overall (252). How to lie with statistsics, I am sure that you will agree with them. Of course we have no idea what the individual results are like because they didn't give those, only the pools. I know Alan. He set up the MK Lighthouse Lab and the testing at Birmingham. He is a tough Scot from Paisley. His wife is a public health lead in the midlands. I know how fed up he is of these lies on Twitter. Personally I have over 20 years experience using qRT-PCR. There is no more specific or sensitive test to detect and determine presence of DNA or RNA Sequences. Best test available. Over 99% specific and 96% sensitive for the SARS CoV2 virus . I have worked in NHS diagnostic labs and helped set up a vet microbiology diagnostic test in Africa. I have a vague idea of what I am talking about, Rather than videos on You Tube The false positive narrative is noting but conspiracy rubbish. CJ is right that there are in fact more false negatives. Australia this week had at least one day where no one tested positive despite many tests. They obviously have found a way round all these false positives...

OK, you have made your statement, how many cycles for COVID-19 should be used? ps careful how you answer, you don't want to contradict your mate Fauci. [Post edited 13 Dec 2020 21:33]

If you read the published PHE validation (in the journal Eurosurveillance) then viable virus can be recovered frequently beyond 30 cycles and often enough at a cycle of 35 to make false negatives a problem. Ct values are pretty arbitrary, though over time it is possible to quantify viral load through improvements to tests. It is a novel virus so this will take time. If you bring the Ct cut off down you improve specificity, But lose sensitivity. Most positives are well below 30. False positives are only an issue at very low prevalence. We don’t have that now.

Then they are very lucky not to be getting false positives as Prof has just said, we use 45 cycles which was declared not fit for purpose by the Portugese Court. I am only posting what other people say. Dr Fauci on Jul16 stated. "the PCR COVID test is useless and misleading when the test is run at “35 cycles or higher.” A positive result, indicating infection, cannot be accepted or believed." That's completely out of context though isn't it? I'm not convinced that is a direct quote and the answer to the question was referring to how likely someone would be to infect someone else, not that they were a "false positive". Also the Portuguese case refers to one particular test on an individual tourist. That's not exactly conclusive is it? The world hasn't been conned over covid 19, you're being conned thinking it has. | Has the world been conned over COVID-19? on 22:08 - Dec 13 with 1255 views | Jack123 | Even taking away the highly dubious pcr testing.. Let's go with increase in testing, so even using basic calculations, it's not rocket science to work out that on average they are getting a hit rate of 10-12% of positive cases.. So, by thinking of that, think of when the virus started February/March, although they never ramped up the testing properly till September, then the virus must have surely passed, or the results coming back are rubbish. What would the positive cases been at the end of March, with near on 20,000 tests carried out?

Unfortunately the positivity rate in Swansea is more like 25%. Our hospitals are overrun with covid patients hampering other services. There's no doubt that we missed loads of positive cases in the spring but we are in as bad a position now in terms of hospital admissions.
