Swansea City v Barnsley : Matchday Thread THE FALL OUT 14:46 - Dec 17 with 8074 views | NotLoyal | Saturday 19th December 2020 Kick off 3pm Liberty Stadium Match Officials ANDY DAVIES Graham Kane and Mark Russell Fourth Official : Tom Reeves First ever game 05 Dec 1925 : Barnsley 2 Swansea Town 0 : League Division Two Last game 29 Dec 2019: Swansea City 0 Barnsley 0 : League Championship Meet the Ref Andy Davies Andy meets Olly Andy boy has been a referee for eight years, retiring from football at the age of 28 he previously played for Portsmouth, Yeovil and somebody else I can’t remember. In his spare time Andy oven roasts live turkeys, which at this time of year makes him everyone’s friend except people from Turkey. Now hear this, now hear this, he has reffed well over 200 professional games, and only on six occasions has he not booked players. He booked eight in a game between Cardiff and Villa two years ago, no problems there, but he loves a card, it’s frightening. He sends players off far more than any other referee in the professional leagues, he has been the subject of many complaints by managers, fans and hits the headlines a lot with his decision making. Don’t think that those eight yellows at Cardiff are a one off, he regularly hits the five or six mark, and frighteningly seven. And as we have said he has only completed six games with no cards, from well over 200 GAMES, think about it. This guy has a way of changing games. This will be cardo’s fifth swans game he has been allocated. What will we get on Saturday ? Turkey rustler Andy Davies, frightening card stats What is a Barnsley ? Barnsley is a hedonistic town in the north of the north. It’s a regular haunting for the likes of ghosts and Darren Gob from Talk Sport. Dazza Gobba is from Monk Breton in Barnsley and we will come back to that later. He alleges that he was once offered a pro football contract by Rotherham United. So, now it’s later why Monk Breton ? simple, it’s where Garry Monk was born, when they slapped his arse in the delivery room they noticed he was wearing an expensive watch and his wife took it off him. Barnsley is famous for the amount of magic mushrooms that can be located over a specific acre of field in a secret area everyone knows about just outside the town. In 2011 the Barnsley chop was banned in the town, the chop is a piece of meat, a cut close to the spine of an animal. At this point the animal is dead, or nearly dead, sometimes it is very dead. The Barnsley chop isn’t banned in Monk Breton and Gawber. Gawber is now called that name because someone in the past decided that would be a good idea. The name remains. Barnsleh ! was the first English town to cater for people with no heads in the T-shirt game 92,000 people live in that Barnsley where the favourite pastime of locals aged forty and over is playing in brass bands. Only 1% of the population is Asian before you lot start, but it does have countless white people of British birth, I don’t know why I am going here, but why not ? it’s a fact. The town isn’t as multi cultural as Whitland or maybe Kenfif Hill, but who is caring ? Don’t start your nonsense on here or I’ll offer you out. Ok ? Thingy, you know the umpire bloke and Michael Parkinson who actually came round our house once are from Barnsley. That’s about it, only five people who live there are called Lee Barnes. This is Darren Gobs house in Barnsley, it’s got a lovely paint job. Tha knaws Football news may appear later. Swansea City v Barnsley : Matchday Thread TEAM NEWS on 15:59 - Dec 19 by AnotherJohn | Lowe has been good. Just to raise a taking point though, although he made good contact with the ball for his goal, he once again hit his shot straight at the keeper. Today it zipped through open legs, but I like a striker who puts the ball in the corner. |
Lol AJ you on the pop ? We’re moving through the gears and now 2-0 up against a tough in form team who are renowned for their ‘in your face’ tactics which worked very well in the 1st half. They’ve had to make a number of changes to change things up as we wrested control this half. Final 15 will be interesting to see whether Cooper feels the need to change to totally turn the screw

I said Lowe got a good connection. But did the ball go through the keeper's legs Y or N? Similar to his first goal against our mates up the road.

He honestly hasn’t got a clue. No wonder Palmer is making sounds about getting out of here a few weeks after saying he wanted a perm exit Edit - great win, players were excellent on a shocking surface. The manager though..... not sure [Post edited 19 Dec 2020 16:53]

Palmer for Dhanda was too obvious for us mere mortals ;-) Can only think Cooper has a cunning plan (eg Palmer going back in Jan ?); we have a longish break .....(as Curt said in commentary, needed the 3pts)

Swansea City v Barnsley : Matchday Thread TEAM NEWS on 17:10 - Dec 19 with 639 views | onehunglow | It is because it is OUR club not Coopers and we are looking at the long term as its our life interest ;that means seeing ourplayers are being looked after to perform.Under this clown ,they are not and are performing in spite of him not because of what he might do . Today, it was entirely possible we could have lost key players due to that disgusting cabbage patch. It is truly appalling man management. Forget the league position as it stands and concentrate on the big picture. As other punters have said, freh legs today would have saved any possible injuries due to tired limbs. We were lucky really

Innit Even if some demonstrated some balanced perspective would be nice. Some posters have become so entrenched in their negative ways they can’t bring themselves to recognise the good bits, ever. Simply not man enough to put their hands up and admit how very wrong they are, most of the time.

Sorry, but that's just a laughable post, 3 more games to reach the halfway stage, and we are sitting third, best defence in the league. Clown? I can think of quite a few teams who would be more than happy with him.

Much of what you post makes me laugh. It doesnt really. It make me sad. We know you are a super fan but take your head from Steve's arse and just look at the big picture. We should not be just hoping to scrape into the play offs. We should be looking at automatic promotion.Nothing else will do for me. Not really funny at all but merry christmas and atb to my friends in Swansea ,if any havent jumped ship

No matter where we are in the league or season there should have beem subs made after the second goal, there was no way we were going to lose so it was a perfect time to rest key players and give players who need time on the pitch gametime. There will come a time and I hope not when a key player will get an injury caused by playing too many minutes and I bet cooper will get pelters for playing said player too much.

Are you suggesting that when playing 3 games Saturday to Saturday at 2:0 up he should not give his other players a run to get fresh legs on and rest his first choice team? Really?

If he had made subs and a in form Barnsley had got back into it he would have got pelters. It was a crucial 3 points after Wednesday, they now have a weeks rest.

The squad Cooper has assembled ( in difficult circumstances) currently only behind the 2 teams relegated from the PL last season? The majority of neutral football supporters would probably say we are in a higher position than they thought we would be at this stage of the season. So called fans find reasons to knock Cooper ( & certain players) every opportunity they can [Post edited 19 Dec 2020 18:01]
