| Huddersfield Town v Swansea City : Matchday Thread SATURDAY TEAM NEWS 16:08 - Feb 18 with 21319 views | NotLoyal | Swansea City continue their championship journey on Saturday Huddersfield Town vs Swansea City England — Championship Date: Saturday, 20 February 2021 Kick-off at 15:00 UK/ 16:00 CET Venue: Kirklees Stadium (Huddersfield) Match Officials JOHN BROOKS Matthew Jones and Akil Howson Fourth Official : Leigh Doughty LIVE FOR INTERNATIONAL TYPE FOLK Highlights on Quest TV three hours after KO. Radio coverage, Radio Wales LIVE. The Ref Good old Brooksy is back, the man who threw a few cards about in the 1-1 home draw with Brentford in January, remember he sent Kyle Naughton off ? Deservedly so too. He was also the ref when Cardiff City realised they were second best in Welsh football in December when the swans won 2-0 at Leckwith. He also sent off Joe Ralls that day, and deservedly so. Huddersfield is inching closer to the relegation zone in the league table. The hosts have been winless for the last five matches in the campaign, following a 2-1 loss on the road against Middlesbrough. They have picked up 33 points from 9 wins and 6 draws in their 30 league appearances this season until now. Swansea City hold fourth spot and will have an eye for the second spot in the league. The away team has picked up 56 points from 16 wins and 8 draws in their 28 attempts in the championship so far this season. They are on a five-game unbeaten streak, including a 1-0 win at home against Nottingham Forest. Huddersfield Town vs Swansea City Head-to-head Two of their recent five matches have ended in a draw. Their previous encounter gave a 1-2 away win for the Terriers. Both teams have scored in their recent three fixtures. The Swans have recorded three of the last five overall wins. The host has lost only one of their last five clashes at home. Huddersfield Town Facts Huddersfield Town AFC (Association Football Club) was founded in 1908. They become a member of the Football League 1910 and has since when claimed three league titles: 1924, 1925, 1926. In the 1923-24 season Huddersfield was given the title by the rule of goal ratio that when was in practise. They had a 1,818 goal ratio against that 1.794 of Cardiff. Ha Bloody Ha. In addition to the three league titles, Huddersfield has played in four FA Cup finals and have won one time. Huddersfield was for a long period well-established in the top leagues, but after a relegation after 1971-72 season, the fans had to wait until the 2017-18 season for the club's return to the highest league level. Now they are back in the championship with all the dross. Swans CEO Julian Winter used to be at Huddersfield, but he isn’t anymore due to the fact he left. Had he not left it could be he would still be there. Julian Winter leaving Huddersfield when he was offered the job at Swansea SWANSEA LATEST Steve Cooper wants Swansea City to build on their hard-earned win over Nottingham Forest and produce an improved performance against a “dangerous” Huddersfield side. The Swans head to West Yorkshire on the back of their 1-0 win at the Liberty in midweek, sealed by a late Connor Roberts header. Head coach Cooper admitted his side had not been at their best, but was full of praise for the heart and desire they showed to climb back up to third in the Championship table. But the Swansea boss hopes to see a more fluent display at the John Smith’s Stadium, and believes it will certainly be needed against a Terriers side who have suffered a dip in form, but were very unfortunate to suffer defeat at Middlesbrough in midweek. “It’s about playing well in the next game, that’s really important because I don’t think you can rely too heavily on games like the last one,” he said. “You take them when they come, and we might look back at it and realise how important a moment that was. “But, as I’ve said before, this season is different, it is hard to predict and hard to prepare. We’ve got 10 games in 31 days coming up, and when has that ever happened? “All I am focused on is Huddersfield, it is a dangerous game, they played really well against Middlesbrough in midweek and we have got to be ready. “There’s still a big chunk of the season to go, so you look forward rather than back. “We know we will have to be very good, tactically and technically, on Saturday.” More football news and obscure truths later.

Did you see much in the way of control from a goalkeeper. How many times do defenders have to clear the ball which really he should. He aint bad-just not that good Cooper. Don't get me started. Let's put it this way. Many of Steve's fans, like you, were rubbishing Mick McCarthy and Cardiff over their results and style of play and fook me what was their result today. Look at them now. Things change quickly. They will get to the play offs and might well get up on the rails as we almost did. We have players clearly out on their feet being selected to start games they shouldn't. Morris should have started three games ago;now he's crocked so save me the great man manager that Cooper is. Cooper aid he knew this would be tough but we started as if it would be a stroll and got caught out through an appalling goal which saw spirits sink. Hoolie is a cameo player -a luxury which we can't really afford when things are going badly as he hides-clearly. Cooper starts him-every time. I can't really go on as it's too sad

This season W 16 D8 L5 Sack him now and that useless keeper I mean 19 goals conceded in 29 games if it were not for our defence it would have been 60. |
All the posters who harp on about Coops not using subs. Worked well today.

I feel truly gutted for him.He should have started today and that might well be the last he'll see of the EFL even the Prem. I see our players being overused and THAT is bad management. When Steve leaves ,as he will,in June, the Tawe will have to be roped off as I fear for some posters who see him as Jesus incarnated. The most overated ,overpraised manager we have ever had. |
Seriously, you try when we are winning, which has been most of the time this season, but one loss and your disdain for Cooper comes flooding out. It's a mirror image of the Derby defeat

| Huddersfield Town v Swansea City : Matchday Thread SATURDAY TEAM NEWS on 17:54 - Feb 20 with 1279 views | Flashberryjack | Massively disappointing day, compounded by the, what looks to be an awful injury to Morris. Maybe some of the players think they are better than what they actually are because of our league position, but we are in that position due to having players that are willing do the hard graft and also have a good degree of skill (albeit some more than others), but take away the hard graft, then the degree skilfulness they possess isn't enough. The writing was on the wall during the Forest game, but the goal papered over the cracks and we chose to ignore the signs. After the initial few minutes of todays game, the Huddersfield players just waltzed past our non existence tackling, besides the 4 they did score they also had one chalked off and another hit the bar (this when we ha 11 players on the field). I hope that Cooper and his staff can sort this out before the Coventry game, or it'll be more of the same. Some may say this is just a blip, I really hope it is. | |

Today wasn't subs, it was Cooper doing similar to what he did against Derby, go two goals down and launch on every attacking player and hope for best. He has zero plan B, never has, never will.

I have to disagree here. Overall we have a pretty thin squad. For me Cooper is picking and doing the best he can with the resources given to him. We lost today, it happens, we won Wednesday and didn’t deserve to. Whilst today is frustrating we are still looking good in the league and hope that this will give the squad a bit of wake up to avoid any complacency.

I thought exactly the same about Hourihane, but the boy cannot run, there's no taking away his quality with free kicks etc, but can we afford to carry a player? I'm not sure personally.

Well said. That’s how I see it as well. Your last sentence is the killer. If this board is manic-depressed, imagine how suicidal they must be on the Brentford board - LLL in the last 3 outings. We must ensure we don’t follow their example.

In terms of Brenford it completely depends on how long Toney is out, if it's a long time then I would be worried if I was them, if not, there's too many goals there to worry about this run lasting.
