The Ref

Good old Brooksy is back, the man who threw a few cards about in the 1-1 home draw with Brentford in January, remember he sent Kyle Naughton off ? Deservedly so too. He was also the ref when Cardiff City realised they were second best in Welsh football in December when the swans won 2-0 at Leckwith. He also sent off Joe Ralls that day, and deservedly so.

Huddersfield is inching closer to the relegation zone in the league table. The hosts have been winless for the last five matches in the campaign, following a 2-1 loss on the road against Middlesbrough. They have picked up 33 points from 9 wins and 6 draws in their 30 league appearances this season until now.

Swansea City hold fourth spot and will have an eye for the second spot in the league. The away team has picked up 56 points from 16 wins and 8 draws in their 28 attempts in the championship so far this season. They are on a five-game unbeaten streak, including a 1-0 win at home against Nottingham Forest.

Huddersfield Town vs Swansea City Head-to-head

Two of their recent five matches have ended in a draw.
Their previous encounter gave a 1-2 away win for the Terriers.
Both teams have scored in their recent three fixtures.
The Swans have recorded three of the last five overall wins.
The host has lost only one of their last five clashes at home.

Huddersfield Town Facts

Huddersfield Town AFC (Association Football Club) was founded in 1908. They become a member of the Football League 1910 and has since when claimed three league titles: 1924, 1925, 1926. In the 1923-24 season Huddersfield was given the title by the rule of goal ratio that when was in practise. They had a 1,818 goal ratio against that 1.794 of Cardiff. Ha Bloody Ha.

In addition to the three league titles, Huddersfield has played in four FA Cup finals and have won one time. Huddersfield was for a long period well-established in the top leagues, but after a relegation after 1971-72 season, the fans had to wait until the 2017-18 season for the club's return to the highest league level. Now they are back in the championship with all the dross. Swans CEO Julian Winter used to be at Huddersfield, but he isn’t anymore due to the fact he left. Had he not left it could be he would still be there.

SWANSEA LATEST

Steve Cooper wants Swansea City to build on their hard-earned win over Nottingham Forest and produce an improved performance against a “dangerous” Huddersfield side.

The Swans head to West Yorkshire on the back of their 1-0 win at the Liberty in midweek, sealed by a late Connor Roberts header.

Head coach Cooper admitted his side had not been at their best, but was full of praise for the heart and desire they showed to climb back up to third in the Championship table.

But the Swansea boss hopes to see a more fluent display at the John Smith’s Stadium, and believes it will certainly be needed against a Terriers side who have suffered a dip in form, but were very unfortunate to suffer defeat at Middlesbrough in midweek.

“It’s about playing well in the next game, that’s really important because I don’t think you can rely too heavily on games like the last one,” he said.

“You take them when they come, and we might look back at it and realise how important a moment that was.

“But, as I’ve said before, this season is different, it is hard to predict and hard to prepare. We’ve got 10 games in 31 days coming up, and when has that ever happened?

“All I am focused on is Huddersfield, it is a dangerous game, they played really well against Middlesbrough in midweek and we have got to be ready.

“There’s still a big chunk of the season to go, so you look forward rather than back.

“We know we will have to be very good, tactically and technically, on Saturday.”

More football news and obscure truths later.

A bad day for us and sickened with the injury to Morris.

2 or 3 on here enjoying this performance a little bit too much for my liking.

Agree - very poor day at the office for us (which has been coming) but it looks like we’ll get away with it with Brentford, Reading & Bournemouth all losing too - good weekend to be a Norwich or Watford fan & a lot more interesting for Cardiff, ‘Boro, Stoke & maybe Barnsley.

Cooper will need to earn his corn to re group the squad & come back strong against Coventry - for me Smith, Dhanda & Manning are all due a start.

No maybe about it.
If anyone is not utterly sickened with this non performance then they are really not true fans.
No positives can be taken from this at all.
Nothing the matter with being sad, downbeat, pyssed off after a bad defeat

People post then moan in the privacy of one's Study

Now didn't trundle just say the losing feeling like this isn't a bad place to be because nobody likes to repeat it.

It happens, and will be a massive learning.

Totally unexpected defeat today, my Indian take away will go down in lumps.

But, let's move on t Wednesday and get back in the saddle

He's refering to the All Black mentality.
World of difference there.

I fear today is a massive result for all the wrong reasons.I'll take a back seat now and let the better fans laud our hitherto great season and how we forget this result and move on to the Coventry -who beat brentford 2-0)

I admit to not being in Steve s fan club and wouldn't want Woody a guest of honour at my grandson' s bar mitzvah

No but you need a sense of balance some are very negative even when we play ok.

You know the type slagging off our keeper or manager at every opportunity.

Sad day especially for Morris. I feel for the player. Time to be calm and recognise the need for rotation. The big teams have also had losses and lost key players today.

Huddesfield loss in 2016 saw Swansea hang on for a 0-0 but lost Jordan Ayew sent off for 3 games and that started the slide to relegation.

Wise sage since Toshack era

Why?

Why do you think?

We had steadied the ship before half time and in the ascendancy. Then Bennett off, Cabango on .

Cabango turned his back, unforgivable. and let’s hope as a promising young CH he never commits that schoolboy calamity ever again in a Swans shirt

Frankly,I will do as I wish.hove me on ignore.

We have a weak goalkeeper that has had a god defence cover for him. When defence is crap, like today, he is sunk.

It wasn't in my stars, I expected a tough game, but thought we couldn't play as bad as we did in the week, but we collapsed like a pack of cards, after half-time, can't blame anyone, we were just totally bad all over the pitch.

Yep.
I feel truly gutted for him.He should have started today and that might well be the last he'll see of the EFL even the Prem.

I see our players being overused and THAT is bad management.

When Steve leaves ,as he will,in June, the Tawe will have to be roped off as I fear for some posters who see him as Jesus incarnated. The most overated ,overpraised manager we have ever had.

You're blaming today on Cabango? That is harsh. We had hardly steadied the ship either, Hourihane took a good free kick, our performance hadn't improved any up til then. That's why Cooper made changes, we needed changes.

This wasn't just one player having a bad day, the whole team were poor from start to finish. Lets just hope it is just a sticky patch because we weren't great last Wednesday.

We crashed, it was a write off, now we need to pick ourselves up and go again..

Singling out Cabango though when other players did just as bad, in the first half Guehi turned his back for their first goal

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

But our collective attitude stank from about 10 mins in.Hudds would have taken a draw until they realised we really were not giving them any respect at all.
First goal a classic of us watching them literally stroke the ball past a keeper who is still on is feet watching the ball roll past him.We would laugh if it were a rival club

Yes he is shocking.

Play offs last season.

This season
W 16
D8
L5

Sack him now and that useless keeper I mean 19 goals conceded in 29 games if it were not for our defence it would have been 60.

You misunderstood. It was a discussion specifically around Cabango. Maybe read the trail instead of jumping in blindly with both feet.
