| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

| Mr Drakeford on 10:41 - Jan 6 by Whiterockin | Looks like it could be Spurs ground. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport Scotland considering a move also. Four-time British and Irish Lions coach Sir Ian McGeechan is eager to see the likes of Wales and Scotland–whom he coached in two separate stints–use neighbouring England as a makeshift headquarters. "The possibility of moving matches to English venues is certainly intriguing," he wrote in a recent Telegraph column. "For Scotland, where the maximum capacity at outdoor games is 500, and Wales, where no fans are allowed, the possibility of playing at St James’ Park (in Newcastle) or the Ricoh Arena (Coventry) would surely be preferable. "And there are currently no legal restrictions preventing fans from crossing the border. |
I hope this goes ahead, maybe it will drive home the blatantly obvious fact that we live on a small island, therefore common sense should prevail, and we all have the same covid rules.

| Mr Drakeford on 08:55 - Jan 6 by Whiterockin | https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/ru Will this push Drakeford into a corner, the next statement from him is due tomorrow. I can't see any changes confirmed for the future, its just not his style. IMO the games will move to England and Drakeford will stand firm at the moment. In a months time he will look even more stupid, when you see the photos of thousands crossing the border on busses, full stadiums with Welsh supporters in and full pubs. |
Moving a game has a lead time, policing etc. He's put himself in a position where if he persists with the restrictions and cases drop like a stone as predicted he could be faced with a position where the Wales games have been moved and case numbers are low. Alternatively he can lift restrictions in the next week or two to allow games to go ahead in Wales and risk looking a bit silly. I expect a behind the scenes deal with the WRU with restrictions eased just in time.

That behind the scenes deal, what if they do it but then things change and Drakers makes a decision to extend restrictions? The WRU wouldn't have time to make other arrangements. I don't think they'd do a deal unless Drakeford guaranteed they could have a sold out stadium, which he cannot do.

I tend to agree. Maybe best for Drakeford to cut and run?

And what of any potential legal action coming from all other forbidden sports venues such as the Liberty and CCS?

And apparently the Deva stadium in Chester. They've hosted 2 games since Christmas with over 2000 fans in attendance, the ground is in Wales but the club offices in England. Welsh Government have asked North Wales Police and Flintshire trading standards to investigate. Embarrasssing.

The club offices are in England and all matches at Chester are policed by Cheshire police force. Apparently the pitch is in Wales. Will be interesting to see North Waled arrest the Cheshire police for failing to enforce Drakeford's laws.

Desperately trying to shift attention to Johnson (sounds like a Kilks post now I come to think of it) as more and more questions get asked about his knee jerk restrictions. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wa [Post edited 7 Jan 2022 15:36]

The outcomes in terms of infections, hospitalisations and deaths arer statistically similar across the UK. Drakeford is making a hole for himself.

He's rattled, which is nice to see. Sturgeon was similarly rattled yesterday, with all the usual platitudes about 'making no apologies for protecting people blah blah blah'. She however also laid the groundwork for a climbdown in the next couple of weeks, more or less admitting there was neither any point nor any money to drag out arbitrary restrictions. What winds me up about Drakeford is his sanctimonious and holier than thou attitude to it all. He is 'right' and anybody who dares to question his nonsensical restrictions is objectively 'wrong'. Even his English Labour friends have managed to perform a classic pivot in the last 2 weeks to support no further restrictions in England. I bet he's absolutely seething he won't be able to spin this latest set of diktats out for a few months, the nasty little man.

I would expect the law in England (whatever that is) to apply if the ground is a hat side of the border

Radio Wales news tonight had some doctor/health worker type person on (didn't catch exactly who the spokesman was) and they are basically all behind Drakers, the interviewer even asked do you want ever greater measures as the bloke was so fully behind what Drakers is doing, he said the measures in Wales are sufficient and what's needed for the time being.

To be fair you can always find an expert/scientist/professor who will back up any side of an argument.
