Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Drakers on the road to Indy then …..?

‘Mark Drakeford said relationships within the UK need to be reset because “too often we see the UK Government act in an aggressively unilateralist way.”

He believes for the UK to thrive, the union of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland must be based on a partnership of equals, with regular opportunities for the four governments to work together and manage disputes properly.

The First Minister said: “Wales’ future is best served by having strong devolution — so decisions about Wales are made in Wales — and by being an equal partner in a strong and revitalised United Kingdom.

“For this to happen, the way the Union works must change. And the need for change is urgent — the Union has never been this fragile. If matters continue in their current vein the case for the break-up of the UK will only increase.

“Too often we see the UK Government act in an aggressively unilateral way, claiming to act on behalf of the whole UK, but without regard for the status of the nations and the democratic mandates of their government.

“We see muscular unionism, instead of working towards a genuinely constructive and collaborative relationship between the governments of the UK.’

Drakers knows the score. Annibyniaeth.

Drakers, has done an excellent job in Wales. Ok, he lacks the charisma, but he's not afraid to take the tough decisions. I believe he should be given some form of official honour

Oh yeah, great job, he's stopped all infrastructure building on roads, he's cancelled the M4 relief condemning us to miles of queues, he's overseen massive overspends (such as the new Cancer hospital) before it's even started, he's built a nice new dual carriageway at 50% overspend and given it a lower speed limit than the original single carriageway had. He's thrown millions at Cardiff airport and then written off historic debt so they could afford to pay back the new loans.

The next great spend will be to increase the number of MS's in the Senedd, ore jobs for the boys that the Welsh public will have to pay for, probably with cust elsewhere so they can afford the claimed 10 million bill.

Oh, tourist tax.....

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Drakeford should concentrate on the matters that are devolved to the senedd.

Welsh MPs elected to the UK Parliament have a say on UK matters.

Drakeford should not refuse the generous offer to fund the abysmal bottleneck of the Brynglas tunnels on the M4 which everyone in Wales needs sorting out.

After all he did not refuse funding that came from UK taxpayers via the EU to fund projects in Wales.

The Welsh government's heads of the valley upgrade which is thee years late and over budget is due to open shortly. The upgrade to a modern dual carriageway with fully separated junctions from a 3 lane single carriageway will be far safer. Yet Drakeford response is too lower the speed limit from 60mph to 50mph.

Totally agree, and wait until people realise how bad our NHS in Wales really is. Recent experience has really shocked me. I mean why cant we get this and education right in a small country like ours it really is pathetic, and unbelievably people want to give these clowns more powers.

Well said people who can think for themselves can see the damage 20 years of Labour and Drakeford have done to Wales. Everyone had high hopes when devolution started but can see things have have got worse since.

You don't have to tell me about the NHS, my personal experience of what the Senedd has done to it is enough.

The selection of MPs and elected members in general needs to be tightened up, we have people with no relevant experience running huge organisations.

Biggest employer with over 7.5 Billion budget approx.

And its quite possible for some muppet elected with 3 GCSE's or a honorary professorship
whatever that is by a few thousand Labour Union members to run our Health system.

FWIW I believe that Brynglas tunnels should go ahead regardless of how to funded, however Transport is a devolved function and the responsibility of the WG and I can see why Drakers etc would resist central government intervention in Wales.
In terms of the EU funding, the money was allocated to Wales as a result of applications made by WG and other bodies, he’s hardly going to refuse money that WG have applied for.

In terms of the Heads of the Valleys road, the section concerned was built with a 50mph in mind with a focus on safety, personally I think it’s outrageous and should be at least 60 ideally 70 so people can make progress and hopefully remove some f the traffic off the M4.

Its nothing to do with my employment.

Its nothing to do with your employment.

If Drakers thinks Wales should have the same devolution settlement as Scotland and the north of Ireland, then he is right to call it out.

Drakers is an elected leader, not a sniveller.
