Is that why East Germany had to build barbed wire fences surrounded by armed guards with shoot to kill orders if any of their citizens decided the preferred to move to the democratic West. Fortunately the brought down the East German community government as well as tearing down the Berlin Wall.

I remember Peter Fechter and his body lying on the barbed wire whist the Socialist border guards argued about who should take care of the body.
He was a bricklayer

Straight after the war the Nazi capitalists took all their assets from East Germany and fled to the West where they knew the capitalists in the West would look after them.
So East Germany had less resources than West Germany then the Yanks flooded West Germany with money (and missiles), young educated people wanted the better opportunities the West offered and started to flea there, many not caring that the West was built and run by corrupt cronyism and still is.

East Germany prevented all the Nazis from holding jobs of power (denazification) the West was supposed to do the same but didn't the West employed them in important jobs running the country, the Americans did the same with war criminal Japs they had them running the country but they were then in the Yanks pocket, same with the Nazis.
The East Germans trained thousands of teachers (did I read 40,000 ?) as they were not going to have Nazi party members or their spouses teach the young.

America and the West corruptly manipulate people, businesses, political leaders, whole countries to do their bidding and if they don't they attempt regime change via puppets or invade, the elites run the World for themselves.

As much as I love Wales, what is your criteria for Wales being the best country in the World? Is the landscape better than Austria, Switzerland New Zealand Canada? Is it's coastline as good as Cornwall, Australia Fiji? Is Mumbles, Narberth prettier than The Cotswolds?
Is the food as good as parts of France or Spain?
To be fair Welsh people on the whole are very friendly and I love living in Gower. Pembs and Brecon area also great as are many other parts. Just interested.

Well,I would take issue with you on friendly

Wales a
Has a terrible climate ,indifferent food and has service staff in holiday places with attitude problems

Yesterday on Anglesey witnessed an amazing filthy attitude towards a customer in a restaurant as they asked for four seats for lunch.

Sentiment towards one s own place of birth is often covered in sentiment .

For food France ,even in holiday resorts is often superb, the beaches often not used as dumping grounds for litter too.

We walked on the banks of the Menai Straights ,right by Nelson monument. Hard to reach but somebody had and left the remnants of their bottles and bbq behind hanging them in a plastic bag on a tree .

Britain is a garbage dump and we deface that which is beautiful,

Met Keith and Brenda a couple of days ago. They were tanning themselves outside the Langland Brasserie. Keith had a lovely £6 pint of Peroni and Brenda was sipping on an £8.50 New Zealand Marlborough Sav Blanc. Said how much they were enjoying Gower and how they helped financially to put their daughter through Swansea University. Told me they were eating in the Britannia in the evening and what was it like?
Keith was a bit miffed though, as he couldn't find an ice cream for 47pm anywhere.

I would say on the whole South Wales in pretty friendly. Not sure of the North because I've hardly been there. Now when it comes to French food, I've had some of the best and worst meals in France. Love the seafood in Cancale and Brittany in general. Loire was of a pretty high standard. Paris was quite average but found a decent place on the back streets of the city.

North Walians in Gwynedd are not.The more rural the worse it is.Why people give them their business beats me.We have been in Anglesey this week.I like the beaches. Its gone crap waetaher wise so we've come home.

If these cursed tourists stayed away, the county would die completely. They should realise this.Speaking Welsh doesnt feed anyone nor create wealth.

Swansea people ARE by and large pretty friendly though .It is and was a good patchwork of cultures when I lived in the old Girl.

People aren't asking tourists to stay away, what they are asking is for our lovely seaside towns to stop being turned into minimum wage summer holiday camps.
Even you must admit having swathes of these places as 2nd homes and AirBnBs is not a good thing?

ey up Ray.
I can speak the most basic Welsh. My father and his family came from Ferryside/Llandyssul and were totally Welsh speaking .When they moved to Swansea and started their business, they eshewed Welsh as the mother tongue for me,mainly as I was a bright kid who went to Grammar school etc. In those days,Welsh or welsh speaking was seen as cute but rather backward. No offence meant there.

Where we lived in Manselton in the 50s some spoke Welsh and my gran went to the Welsh Chapel near to where Jack Rees the Dentist worked (farking butcher).I asked my dad to teach me welsh repeatedly as I could ,by then speak French and German. No was the answer.

As regards Inde, its a thing for young bloods IMO.

North Wales in many places is in dire poverty, far more than in the south. They see Inde as a way out of it but also to get away from the English who are wealthier than them.

I would imagine many go over the border to work in Liverpool, Manchester and other North Western towns?

Let's put it this way.
Queensferry is bedlam at rush hours and the traffic goes to and from the place where they work ,which is England.

If we had an Indy Wales, the talibacks would reach Hull.

North Wales wealth is far more based on its ties with the N W and feeling of therefore (understandably) of detachment from the south

Indeed.
Much of NW wales has shipping links with NM Wales. Many Gogs leaned to be master mariners and left for Liverpool to join their ships.

Many Gog girls went into domestic service to Large houses on Wirral.

On t'other hand,Nort Wales was where Liverpool and Manc evacucees went and many hated it because of the language and the way they were treated. Painful but true.
