Congratulations to Brentford 19:24 - May 29 with 5141 viewstrampie

Brentford deserved their win and promotion, so well done to them.

It was a virtual home game for them mind and played with all English officials, similar scenario the other way round I suppose would be if the match was at St Helens or Ashleigh Road with all Welsh officials, just to put things in context like, things were always stacked against the Swans, as is the want of the powers that be.

Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.

Brentford ffs.

I remember them coming to the vetch in Toshack's reign for a midweek match under lights and they brought TWO fans.

And they looked like two geeks on a train spotting excursion who sat down all through the game in the old double decker stand!

Excuse the pun but they now think they are the bee's knees ffs.
No history, no class and no chance

Oh well they will be next seasons premiership side show, now onto better things like the Summer,Euros & planning away trips to bigger and better places than a junction off the M4.

What posters, any examples ? Are you referencing the OP in this thread who says “congratulations” ?

Have you seen your own websites with racist messages and hate ?
If you want to qualify your remarks with examples we are waiting.

Brentford have been working towards a unified plan for years. They've recruited managers to suit it. They've signed players to suit it. On occasion they've sold players for big money and reinvested that cash to build themselves as a club. I believe (although could be wrong) they've funded their new stadium themselves. They haven't actually needed an awful lot of cash from their owner at all.

In short, they've done things almost exactly the same way we did ten years ago proving that massive "investment" from owners is unnecessary, and if they weren't so generally full of themselves they'd probably deserve a fair chunk of praise for doing so.

Lol.

Matthew Benham has put well over £110m into the club so far.

And the stadium was built due to it releasing up very valuable land that has been turned into expensive houses on the old site and also as it frees up housing around the new stadium and the possibility of a cross rail station for the London Borough of Hounslow so the council used compulsory purchase orders to help get it done.

They haven’t done it even remotely similar to how we did it. In fact, it’s the opposite. Huge investment from a very rich owner.

They can have ten billion dollar owners, if they don’t spend anything it’s pointless.

That table was put out this season although there was a proviso that it's difficult to say somebody's worth but all the same it's interesting and suggests that Brentford guy is small fry compared to some of the other clubs owners.

Indeed.

Trampie is just looking for info to suggest that Benham isn’t worth enough to have put in what I said he’s put in.

I’ve a feeling I saw in the Standard that’s he has taken some back out in the past couple of years when the land at the old stadium was sold, but he’s put in an amazing amount.

People seem to think Brentford are some great model of self funding when actually they have only been able to do what they've done through one rich, and most would say mad, owner.

Ballpark figures suggest Brentford are well in the black on transfers during Benham's tenure as owner. As far as I can tell they've ranged from a £3m loss to a £33m profit depending on the season, considerably in profit overall.

To be honest I find that £110m figure hard to believe, not to mention the fact that if he was subsidising them to that extent, especially given they have no Academy to fund, they would have fallen foul of FFP rules by now.

Maybe you've got examples of what the purported £110m has been spent on?

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

You are paranoid, I seen this table during this season at some point and thought it interesting, and when you mentioned how rich the Brentford owner is I remembered he was down towards the bottom of the list I had seen, you don't like being contradicted that is your problem.

One Matthew Benham the bees sung and I expect most clubs outside the top 6 would love to have such an owner.Someone who not only owns the club he’s supported as a boy and attends most games he’s put over a 103 mill into the club that includes a new stadium that we own at a cost of 78 mill.He has recouped 162 mill in player sales after spending around 70 mill on recruits.
What a mad owner we have by the way Hows yours ?
