| Where do you stand regards the American majority owners ? 10:04 - Jul 16 with 4391 views | KeithHaynes | They seem to be getting a lot of stick at the moment, especially on twitter and on established media comments sections. Any thoughts on them today with the season closing in ? Finances, ability to run the club, investment record etc ? | |

They have been now. Thank you. Going forward, the same needs to apply to each side. If the Trust or those who are now associated with the Trust post without hiding behind anonymity the same needs to apply to those that are fighting against the Trust. We both know that is not the case at present.

Look at what's happening with Swindon, or the half dozen Championship clubs facing embargoes of various sorts. You get a lot of points for not overseeing a shambles these days.
| Where do you stand regards the American majority owners ? on 18:24 - Jul 17 with 720 views | Catullus | Sorry keith, I fell into the Resloven vortex. Some posters always hijack a thread and take any opportunity to attack certain others. Anyway, I still think our current owners have done Ok. Has any football team owner ever managed to get every decision right? Yes the Americans have made mistakes but we are in a far better position than plenty of other teams. Maybe (and I know some will never agree to this but bear in mind I was highly critical of Cooper last season) but just maybe now is the right time to put certain things behind us and just get behind the team, the manager and the owners? When the court case is done we'll know some facts and can argue that then. When we are a few months into the season we can start judging Coops and the team again. WE have 3 weeks until the season starts, is tearing ourselves apart really the best thing we can do? STID. | |

But out of interest, why was this thread created? There's been no incident or news relevant to the owners as such to spark it that I'm aware of? Plus isn't it obvious such threads will inevitably veer into the legal case territory for which there have been numerous threads previously deleted/locked due to their content?

It’s Swansea related and as it stands it’s good for a website to have opinion on it that improves awareness for others to read and make their own informed opinions. That’s why 👠Regards the last paragraph, no it isn’t obvious, that’s for the author of the message to grasp, if they can.

There's numerous other things that could be considered Swansea City related far more topical than this thread that people can educate themselves on. I disagree. It's absolutely glaringly obvious the posters that will be drawn to such a thread & in which direction it will be steered. I don't believe you can't see that.

You have free reign here to post any topic you like, that’s probably the best way to introduce what you want to talk about, and when you want to talk about it. Try it, it’s the biggest benefit of being on here or any forum, you can even manage the thread and steer it in the way you would like too if it goes off topic, or yes, even delete it yourself 👠Best I can say. if you want certain topics, introduce your own, and get involved Chief. You should know by now these things are always welcome. The only times when a thread gets locked or deleted is if it causes legal issues or abuse is reported, that’s the way it is, at least there aren’t people threatening each others lives or whatever on here any more, and change can only be brought about by positive people who want to be involved in change ðŸ‘

Well that's exactly the point really. There ISN'T free reign to post what you want due to the legal implications of doing so. And this thread in particular is obviously going to harbour such posts. But there we are, those are my thoughts on this randomly created but contentious thread, I shall not say anything further.

You can say what you like and introduce whatever topics you want. There’s no conspiracy, it’s a football forum for Swansea City football fans primarily. If you think there’s other news or topics you would like, then as I’ve said crack on. They are most welcome. As for this thread, Contentious is one way of describing it, informative is another, opinionated is another. It isn’t random either, when it was created the most talked about topic on Twitter, as the OP states, was the owners in the USA. I really don’t know why you can’t understand that anything sub judicial can harm the author and the website, and I can’t see many on here with a big bucket collecting cash to pay our legal fees either.

There is free reign within the rules and they are simple, you have to be wary of legal implications and you won't be allowed to post mindless, abusive attacks on other posters. To be fair Chief, Keith isn't running this site for the benefit of HIS health and as such he has posted some fantastic articles, has been very good with getting Swans news on here quickly but he wants/needs the site to grow and succeed so he posts stuff sometimes that will create interest and get people posting, as this thread did. I do agree though, somebody was always going to turn this to the trust and the previous owners. Mentioning no names!

| Where do you stand regards the American majority owners ? on 14:30 - Jul 17 by londonlisa2001 | There is no real difference between a hedge fund and any other type of private equity investment. It tends to be a distinction of risk and liquidity of asset. So quite why you claim anyone’s ‘cause’ would be aided by calling it a hedge fund is a mystery. Glad to see there is yet another thread with the same half truths and lies being peddled. |
Exactly, same goes for the point about loan notes. No one is dull enough to fall for the nonsense posted by some of the sellout/yank mouthpieces on here.

The convertible loan note is actually 'cash'. In football in a pandemic cash is very useful stuff. The club can use it to relay the pitch, paint the steel work and bring in some new low cost players. If Mr Allen has done his job right there will be a winner or two in the new uptake from Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal. Their is a saying "put your cash where your mouth is". Silverstein has done this and looked straight into the eyes of the fans. I was mightily impressed. He is also known as an ethical investor. You can literally see how the money has been spent for yourself. Mr Silverstein who seems like a real nice bloke explained to you he intended sticking around and would not necessarily ask for the money back. He has the option of turning the cash into new cheap shares. That appears to be his intention. It will then become 'an investment'. Something the forum sages said would never happen. I think I am a "sell out / yank mouthpiece for the front men of the hedge funders" on this forum. These people are not around Resolven too much so I do not know any of them. 'Hedge funds' although a well know investment device to the financially literate has negative connotations to those less sophisticated who remember the big scams of the 1980 and 1990s with Bernie Madoff and others. Hedge funds are run on trust and not protected by compensation schemes. Swansea city is an extreme high risk investment it always has been. Understanding the Convertible loan note is the key to understanding the owners intentions. [Post edited 18 Jul 2021 14:41]

Silverstein shouldn't be part of this thread. He isn't an owner. Just a guy who's loaned the club money at 5% interest as it stands.

He is a director of Swansea city and is part of the US owners business team so is a very relevant person. He is not a simple lender. I hope for the club s sake he does not cash in his loan and ask for his money back with interest. Do you have evidence he has no shares? A "No" will suffice if not.
