| Swansea City v Hull City : Expect to see brave and exciting football today on 18:17 - Sep 11 by Boundy | It appears that patience is in short supply with some , did we see a much improved performance today , you bet we did, are we the finished article no way, but I enjoyed todays game far more than the previous 3 so for me combining performance and the entertainment I'd say we're heading forward rather than back .On another day a two goal win wouldn't have flattered us with some of the interplay being excellent , yes the ball could at times have moved quicker forward and I'm sure it will once the players get used to each others movements .The 2 down side for me was not only we failed to win but at the end the muted boos from the corner of the east stand , seems there's a few not only on here but in the "real" world who are expecting us to play fast expansive football all in a matter of two weeks. |
Boundy. We saw no improvement in front of goal nor in the final ball. Russ said he was working hard. That fragility is the most obvious. Our midfield is strong and defence ok. We need to finish

Russ said he was starting at the back and up front would be last area to see much improvement. Russ has still only been here a short time, has had to change the majority of the team and re-educate all of them. People are not giving Russ a fair crack. PS, but for poor reffing today we could and maybe should have won. To me it was a stonewall penalty. Then later on he booked Bidwell for something he didn't even give us a free kick for just a short while earlier. I agree, we need to be sharper in front of goal, our final pass needs to be quicker, played earlier, we need to be brave but we are getting there. In fact I think we are further ahead than I expected. At times today Hull had been forced to retreat into their own area, several times we were camped in their half, all our outfield players in their half. The improvement was clear.

If people are genuinely expecting the finished article after a couple of months and barely a fortnight's worth of uninterrupted training time then, let's not beat around the bush here, they're Morons. Complete and total ones.

| Swansea City v Hull City : Expect to see brave and exciting football today on 21:28 - Sep 11 with 804 views | WalterBoyd | It's not just me I know. I really enjoyed todays match. Frustrating at times, especially not to get the 3 points, but I had really been looking forward to see our new signings play and they didn't disappoint. Also some recent signings stepped up again today, Patterson, Downes especially. Our defense looked calm and assured, keeper pulled off a cracking save and his distribution was good. For me , everything but the goal which would have been the icing on the cake. Really looking forward to the Millwall match on Wednesday. Cardiff beat them 3-1 a few weeks, but they drew 1-1 today against West Brom, so expect a difficult match. Just hope we at least get a goal and hopefully a win. [Post edited 11 Sep 2021 21:32]

Yes, they are. Utter cretins without even the slightest grasp of the basic concepts of football and how long it can take to bed them into a squad with limited training time. I'd compare them to people who commission architectural plans then three weeks later are banging on the architects door and demanding to know why the building isn't finished.

Obafemi , our new number 9 - just in case you were wondering who, only came on late in second half. Lets give him and the rest of the team time. If at the end of the season it hasn't worked then come back and have a moan and remind us how you were right all along, until then, just enjoy, support and dream. I would love to have a Jason Scorland or Bony type in the squad mind, there is always January.
| Swansea City v Hull City : Expect to see brave and exciting football today on 21:52 - Sep 11 with 749 views | Thornburyswan | Decent overall performance today, good shape & generally all comfortable on the ball with better movement too, however a few observations :- 1. Very limited in final third & felt Piroe was on his heels too often not expecting the ball to be played into him. 2. Ntcham good performance but clearly not match fit - not sure from what I saw today that he will add many goals mind. 3. Personally we need to find a way to get Cabango into the starting line-up - probably in place of Bennett or Nauts - his heading ability adds more value than his limited passing takes away, particularly vs sides that are more physical. 4. Unless we can add a different ‘10’ option in Jan we will struggle to score goals regularly. 5. We lack a player who will go passed his opposite number & commit defenders so we are always looking for that perfect pass/cross - Pato can I think but not sure he’ll score/create enough. All that said it was a better performance & generally enjoyable, had we got & scored the deserved Laird challenge penalty we’d have been coming away for the stadium pleased. | | | |

I wonder if some people can remember how long it took Alex Ferguson to build his all conquering team? It certainly didn't happen in weeks or months, they'd finished 4th the season before but in his first season it was 11th spot. Perspective is needed. Thinking that we should be anywhere near the finished article now is premature to say the least. All the players looked comfortable on the ball today, all passed well. It can be coached in, even to average Championship players.

Average attempts on goal til today 8 (6 from open play) Shots on goal today 16 (11 from open play) That's an improvement. Last season we failed to score in 13 Hull came to defend and we tested their keeper, hit the post and should have had three penalties. League and playoff games 1.18 goals per game last season with a manager who had had a full season, four transfer windows, a premier league quality forward, 0.67 this season from an almost completely changed team, with a month old manager and several player making their debut for the swans.

| Swansea City v Hull City : Expect to see brave and exciting football today on 23:08 - Sep 11 with 700 views | AndyCole | 69% possession. 4 shots on goal. 0-0. The total antithesis of brave and exciting football, against one of the very worst teams in this league / League 1, held together by an ageing Huddlestone. For all Martin's talk, today was massively underwhelming. There's a pattern emerging and it needs fixing before it's too late. Dear god, even next door thought it was boring. . . | |

A Premier League quality forward? You mean the 31 year old that plays for Qatar Stars who was sold by a Premier League club years ago because he couldn’t get in their team when in his prime? If Ayew is a Premier League quality forward then he would be playing there - or it’s equivalent. He isn’t, for a reason.

| Swansea City v Hull City : Expect to see brave and exciting football today on 02:30 - Sep 12 with 625 views | DJack | I'm quite surprised by the lack of comments on bennet being on the right of a back three. I saw him there and was quite surprised (a little panicked) but throughout the game I was happy with him. OK, this was a poor Hull but it was a definite improvement from him on the "footballing" front. | |

But he broke the British transfer record a few times in doing so and paid his players far more than any other club until Chelsea came along and done the same and won the league The hedge fund that's taking us to the cleaners and the next level downwards ( they have already done it once) are not prepared to spend a cent.

That just proves my point. Fergie spent a fortune and still didn't gain success overnight. It took him years and many millions to build that team. We are operating on breaking even but people expect instant reward? It's crazy.

What other manager other than Bob Bradley the clown hasn’t managed to get acceptable results on the budgets we are working with? Go back 20 years if you like. Except this season we have spent more in a single season than we ever have in the football league in our history.

That's not what you were saying last season when we were getting results though? We said we wanted entertaining, we said we wanted possession and passing, not negative tripe. The results will take longer to come with all those changes being made but there has definitely been progress so why the complaints? As I pointed out, even the great Alex Ferguson with millions to spend took years to get results. WHy should we expect it from Russell Martin in a few weeks? It's unreasonable.
