I dread to think where we would be had Piroe not arrived as a marquee signing who senior management obviously had high hopes for.

I don't think Bournemouth are in for him for being poor with us this season, clear that United see Bournemouth as a better option.....his success in the first half of the season under Martin's guidance is a clear indication to what United will see as a progression onto Bournemouth.
Seems that some fans of United are indicating that because Bournemouth play a back 4 is a reason towards the move, going to a back 4 is something that I would certainly like to see Martin look into going forward. |

Bournemouth is better developmental stage for him than we are, because we don’t win games and play a very unnatural way. A way which is unlikely he will experience again, be that in the system we play or the tactics we play.
It’s also pointless for us really, if we are building long term as everyone keeps saying, then why do we have loan players anyway? |  |

Yes very true, loans with an option/agreement to buy or have first refusal on is not an issue. Laird I’m sure would have been out of our range, that’s even if they were open to a transfer.
So I’m not THAT annoyed by it. We have benefitted from this sort of thing before at other clubs expense, the nature of the loan market.
It does pose a new issue to us though which we do need to address at full back. | |

The club could easily pick up another stop gap in the form of an experienced defender for 6 months and did that with Freeman last year. |  |

Perhaps Man Utd recalled him as he is a fullback and Martin prefers to play him out of positions as a winger. Mind you he plays centre halves as fullbacks. | |
