| QPR v Swansea City : Matchday Thread 21/22 MATCHDAY ! 22:40 - Jan 22 with 8554 views | NotLoyal | It’s another championship game this Tuesday. It’s a rescheduled game from a time when coughs and splurts were about. They still are about, like a thing that’s still here. The Jack Army are on the move again, all the way east until they get there, there will places further east when they arrive but that would mean not being there. This seasons form, Swansea on the right â¬‡ï¸ Match Officials GEOFF ELTRINGHAM Mark Russell and George Byrne Fourth Official : James Linington QPR v Swansea City : Form guides, Latest news & Expectations 24th Jan 2022 09:40QPR v Swansea City is always a feisty game, and there has been some rivalry between the clubs over the years. What is also a fact is both sides don’t score a lot of goals and history this season clearly shows this. It’s a welcome return to midweek football under the lights in west London. 0 Swansea Independent & Planet Swans talk QPR 25th Jan 2022 10:00‘Loft for words’ the Fansnetwork QPR website has hosted Swansea Independent and Planet Swans in a pre match discussion before tonight’s championship game between QPR and Swansea City. With any ref. Big handful of shirt to pull one of their players back when already booked. | | | |

Downes' red was coming a mile off. Lost his head after the first yellow and lucky to stay on when he blatantly pushed their lad in midfield and the ref didn't even give a foul. |
Even their manager said Downes shouldn’t have gone. He’s worked so hard on his discipline this year - he’s only had 5 yellows this season. Give the lad a break - he cares and shows some passion for his club.

One yellow short of his worst season for discipline and we're only just past the midway stage. Only Ryan Bennett has had more for us (Manning and Smith also on 5).

Warbuting clearly vshitng. Austin clearly targeted Flynn. Even Mackiecsaidcso. Flynn will be gutted but he really is a young warrior and one to have in the trenches Some didn’t rate him, they do now

He’s hardly been dirty or reckless though. On many occasions he “took one for the team”. Your boy grimes hardly gets his kit dirty. I know which kind of player I’d prefer

Grimes did ok last night in fairness, more so when dropped to let Flynn go forward, he brought some dynamism to the forward play which had been lacking intensity.

I've got little problem with how he usually plays defensively, he's been very good in that area, but you can't make stuff up about him improving his discipline this season when he's on course for his worst ever season for cards. Fact is Grimes has made more tackles for us this season. Averaging 1.3 per game with Downes on 1.0. Far fewer than during Cooper's seasons when Grimes and Fulton were two of the most prolific midfield tacklers in the division. Possession will do that. Grimes well behind in fouls though, just 0.6 per game compared to Downes 1.1 (yes, more fouls than tackles by whoscored's metric). Wolf is our current hardman on paper, averaging 2 tackles and 2 fouls per game so far.

If Ntcham is fit on Saturday I can’t see Wolf starting.

Spot on - lot of Ipswich fans have complained about Downes getting constant needless reds but he’s been much more composed and mature this year apart from last game’s unfortunate situation

Which makes you wonder why bring in some player who is not fit, good enough, injured . Christie would be a fantastic signing rather than a loan

He was sent off once for Ipswich. It isn't hard to fact check this stuff so why make it up? https://www.transfermarkt.co.u
