WBA v Swansea City 21/22 Matchday Thread AFTERMATH 14:07 - Feb 21 with 20692 viewsNotLoyal

Dean Whitestone will be the man in the middle when Swansea City visit West Brom at The Hawthorns tonight (8pm). The Northamptonshire official will be taking charge of the Swans for the first time this season, having been at the helm for the home win over Blackburn last term, as well as victories over Preston and Middlesbrough in the campaign before that. Whitestone has no shortage of experience, and has been refereeing for long enough to have had the whistle for a Swansea game during the club’s previous stint in the Championship. He will be assisted by Steven Meredith and Shaun Hudson, while Matthew Donohue will be the fourth official.

You can watch tonight’s game on Sky Sports or for those who love an evening by the wireless Talk Sport 2.

We will of course have this match day thread running throughout the day and this evening.

Saturday morning Championship review : Latest Team News WBA v Swansea City 26th Feb 2022 08:43
It isn’t time to start making predictions in the Championship just yet but this weekends games, if we include Swansea City as well are definitely going to split the middle of this league. February and March are defining months in the Championship mid table battle which decides who is heading towards the top six and who is basically hanging around mid table until the end of the season. 0

Russell Martin remains unmoved and resilient ‘ No compromise’ 26th Feb 2022 13:29
Swansea City head to the Hawthorns for the main SKY TV Championship game on Monday. With limited resources at his disposal swans boss Russell Martin is more than happy to welcome back two key figures to his match day selections. Kyle Naughton and Hannes Wolf are back, and Martin issues his unconditional philosophy once again. 0

WBA v Swansea City : Two managers with the same desperate goal 28th Feb 2022 05:23
Tonight’s game at the Hawthorns between two teams on a difficult run of results could prove pivotal for the remainder of the season. Russell Martin leads Swansea City in to the game, the swans last win on the road was away at Barnsley in November. Steve Bruce on the other hand is in charge of the baggies who have won only twice in their last twelve league games. 0

The WBA curse and there’s more than one to counter 28th Feb 2022 11:34
Swansea City travel to the Hawthorns this evening with numerous hurdles to overcome. As we reported this morning not winning at West Brom for nine years is one issue, the other is trying to manage Andy Carroll who just loves to play against Swansea City. But that’s not all. 0

West Bromwich Albion: Sam Johnstone, Conor Townsend, Dara O'Shea, Kyle Bartley (captain), Semi Ajayi, Callum Robinson, Grady Diangana, Jayson Molumby, Andy Carroll, Adam Reach, Alex Mowatt.

Substitutes: Darnell Furlong, Matt Clarke, Karlan Grant, Cedric Kipre, David Button, Taylor Gardner-Hickman, Quevin Castro.

Swansea City: Andy Fisher; Ben Cabango, Kyle Naughton, Ryan Manning; Hannes Wolf, Flynn Downes, Matt Grimes (captain), Cyrus Christie; Joel Piroe, Jamie Paterson; Michael Obafemi.

Substitutes: Ben Hamer, Jay Fulton, Korey Smith, Olivier Ntcham, Kyle Joseph, Joel Latibeaudiere, Finley Burns.

Wham Bam Cheers Ntcham : Swans defeat the Baggies 2-0 28th Feb 2022 22:43
A stylish last twenty minutes from Swansea City ensured three points and a huge sigh of relief for boss Russell Martin. Strikes from Joel Piroe and Cyrus Christie from well supplied crosses in the last quarter brought a huge smile to the big away swans support. It was a cold and damp night, a slick pitch underneath the lights and a first win in nine years at the Hawthorns for Swansea City. 0

See, another Childish response to a post when you have no answer.

Issue is, you strive to be right, vgo out of your way to prove people wrong. That game always ends in tears as you have to realise that now and again you will be wrong and people will treat others as they treat them, in this case you will be pointed out when you are wrong.

You have created such a divide that you will try to show no weakness and deny to the death you are not wrong AND in doing so are showing many other bad traits.

If you are going to play that game then you have to be consistent. I will have a decent conversation on here with any decent poster who is consistent and honest with themselves.... This is why I and others don't with you and one or two others.

Why is that childish, I’m absolutely serious.

Best tip I can give anyone chatting with someone who you suspect has dishonest intentions is, always ask for specifics when they come with their sweeping statements/accusations.

Shuts down instantly, 99.9% of time there won’t be any.

Not sure about that as you still get abuse and insults .It has got better here but still evident, just less mendacious.

No I actually know a lot more including your real name and where you are from but a football forum obviously isn't the place to reveal such information
My worry is that you and Perch are choking this site.
It will defeat the main purpose it is run for.
Perhaps somewhere deep down you could find a bit of human decency and think about that while you have the chance ?

Again with the three threads nonsense ?
I have told you but sadly you cannot comprehend so here goes again :
The first one ( about you editing a post to prove a point) I reported myself so that admin would delete it
The second one ( and this has been confirmed by admin) was deleted because of something someone else posted ( so nothing to do with what I had posted )
There was never a third one as admin once again confirmed.
So I give you one out of three.
Even then that was following my reporting it.
So give this nonsense up and start acting for the greater good ?

It doesn’t matter if you reported yourself, doesn’t matter if someone else said something as well as you, you have had 3 threads removed due to your attention seeking behaviour and the reactions that they cause.

That’s just a fact.

As I said, you will always be given what you deserve with me. Behave and you we will get along ok, keep acting like you are then be prepared for another 3000 pages as I’m like a dog with a bone and I never let trolls win, regardless of silly “I know your name” creepy nonsense.

You have taken me off ignore, you now have a duty to behave. If you won’t then you have to deal with people replying to you.

It’s not unfounded, it’s a fact.

The only person that does unfounded, is you. Your false accusations are mounting.

You are complaining about these threads - not me, I’m more than happy to keep giving you the attention you crave.

I am trying to help you solve your problem. If you don’t want me replying to you then you are going to have to start behaving, or accept the replies and stop complaining about them and boring everyone.

You won’t get an inch from my direction. Behave or get used to the fact you will be spending an awful lot of time replying to me, either one is fine with me.

I would have banned you by now as I would assume many others would as did former moderators on this board did more than once.

There is a duty of care required for yourself and others on this forum and your posting is of concern for sure, why Keith is allowing you to continue this tirade is beyond myself and others.

I don't care what you have to say, I am more than fimiliar with your style over the years, doesn't wash with me but my worry is for this site and not you.

Who next will you battle with just because they don't agree with you and your unfounded facts!?
Who's next?

What concerns me more is that you genuinely don't see what you are doing although I suspect you do and are pushing it to new levels knowing this new regime is a lot weaker than the previous one.

"I don't care what you have to say,"

If this was even 20% true you would not bother to engage him.
You and STID use pages and pages arguing with him, going over the same ground day in day out, week in week out.
Like verbal diarrhea on a keyboard.
Plus if you "don't care what you have to say" you wouldn't be calling for him to be banned.

Look at that which Lifelong posts ,to whom and then relate his text to thread .

Abuse takes many forms

There is clearly little tolerance for some posters .

Don’t like it,don’t read it. Ignore.

Nobody has ever, for instance, countered my views on Martin with anything at all that could evidence why they support him rather than the team.

I usually tend to support our managers, this includes Martin.
My main reason is that at least he is attempting to play good football, although there is an awful long way to go.
In spite of my reservations about Cooper, I supported him until that dreadful performance in the play off final.
Same will apply with Martin.
He has got an awful lot wrong this season but we still have 41 points with 14 games to go.
So can't be all bad surely ?
I hope he will learn from his mistakes and we go on to better times under him

41 points is 1.28 points per game.

If averaged over a season that’s 59 points. I don’t think that has been enough for a top half finish for as long as I can remember.

Usually 15th or 16th place. So it depends if you think that’s good really, I don’t. Especially having spent one of the most in the league, think we would be top 6 for transfer fees spent this season.

Good football is subjective. Having possession and knocking it slowly and aimlessly around the back doesn’t mean it’s good. We have looked our best this season when he has ditched that approach and gone direct, the last game is a prime example of that.

So I’m not convinced what he is trying to do will deliver good football. I don’t know many people that think that kind of football is “good”. The amount of “boring” comments this season has been off the charts.

IMO I think Grimes is more than decent player , limited but far better than some give him credit for. He plays safe at times which causes a potential attack to fade which is frustrating at times , but a coward not sure about that one
