The owners have shown a willingness to put the boat out a little when there is a prospsect of promotion. The January window that upset Cooper was not cheap. Hourahaine should have added a lot more than he did.
A top 8 is progress. Top 6 is a minimum target. Martin has to establish progress and that development is working. Recruitment has been a sore point for the owners since 2016. It seems good at present with only Fisher perhaps and Rhys Williams big disappointments. | |

It depends if the board support in the transfer market (and he bring in the players he wants from MK Dons).
Winter will want us to be competitive and I would expect the initial target will be Top 10 before the season break in November.
The World Cup break will see a lot of managers leave as clubs reset for the second half of the season. |

Maybe our owners have decided where they are aiming for next season and how much they are willing to spend. I doubt it though. They will sell 2 of our most popular players for quite a lot of money then try to replace them for a lot less. We will be back in a similar position to last August where we will obviously need 3/4 new players but end up with 1 0r 2 and have similar bland musings about transition thrown at us again. | | | |

Depends on whether he is genuinely learning from his mistakes or not. If he is, he will drop this obsession with possession at all costs and allow the players to express themselves for 90 minutes not just the odd 45. He will swallow his pride and admit he made serious error of judgement in dropping Benda and spending £400k on Fisher. He will appoint a deputy who can provide constructive challenge to him, not just someone he has worked with before who he knows will go with the flow. if he does all of that, and we hold on to a few key players in the next window, we can genuinely contend for the play-offs.
If not, it'll be mid-table mediocrity and I suspect Silverstein will pull the plug just before the January window opens. |
