That's a pretty extreme example and doesn't sit with me at all. There's nothing in the curriculum that suggests that's necessary either.

Talks about empathy, consent, appropriate and inappropriate touch and talking to a trusted adult.

police appears to have become observers. In the riots they went out not with truncheon but hgo pros and picked up the looters later. Focussing on assaults they flag one up and wait for the public to provide more evidence.
They went after a 14 year old that abused Dhanda on line but left 35 year olds that went after 14 year olds in the real world it seems. |  |

Welsh children will be taught relationships and sexuality education (RSE) and religious education (RE) from the age of five regardless of their parents' wishes, the Welsh government has said.
5 years of age, and regardless of the parents wishes.

I’m pretty ambivalent towards it to be honest.
If I thought the scheme of work was inappropriate then I would have an issue but I don’t. There’s also the issue of being left out and picking up snippets on the playground that can entrench misconceptions.
In 22 years in primary schools I’ve only had 2 parents withdraw their children and they were ultra conservative Christians. We send the content and resources out in advance and have a parents meeting to answer any questions.
In practice it’s not the issue Twitter makes some think it is.

Just because you personally don't have an issue with-it doesn't make it right , that's just your opinion , my opinion is schools by definition are there to educate, to teach children basic education not become propagandists for the loons of the world . There's a role to play in providing a child skill sets on how to prepare and qualify them for work in economy as well as to integrate people into society and teach them values and morals of society, but when that transcends the role of the parent then the problems begin. | |
