| Incomings 09:54 - Jul 19 with 2207 views | guthrieintherain | Are we likely to see anymore players coming in. Personally I think we still need Full back / wingback. Goal keeper if Benda goes A creative attacking midfielder. A backup striker possibly 2 if Piroe goes. Do we have funds available or is the Downes money already spent on running costs. | |

This must be the worst transfer window ever to buy and sell players. Season starts and the window still has a month to go, just ridiculous.

We lost Scott Sinclair in a similarly structured window. Never a good idea.

I suspect that this is he case too. I only hope we end up stronger for it

So do I, think that utd will want him to go on loan again and he did revel in his spell here. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Why did he leave to go to Bournemouth? That was a waste of 5 months, he hardly played.

The best chance of keeping Piroe is Martin keeping Swansea in the top 6. If Martin has Swansea 15 point off the play offs by January then the US management will sell the player as by the end of the season they would have to sell him anyway with only one year left on his dea. Hopefully they will have an option like the seem to have with Bennett for an extra year based on appearances. Martin is a wheeler and dealer and likes a high turnover of staff so would welcome the cash.

Man Utd wanted him at a team that could go up, that went well for the club but not him. The grass is always greener, Bournemouth aren’t considering any move for him, he isn’t good enough, he may be ok in a system like Martin has but for me there’s plenty better than him.

Yes Man Utd think they can be allowed to fix the Championship by the power of their cash. The Premier league bully boys should not be allowed to "pick the winners" of this league by deliberately weakening one team and strengthening another. Birch should be on the case. Imagine inf Man Utd were due a loan "bonus" for getting promotion. It is anti competitive. Perhaps Man utd had a bonus off ABFC and cared not a jot about the player. [Post edited 19 Jul 2022 14:32]

The word I was looking for was CARTEL. This is the definition. - {There are certain forms of anti-competitive conduct that are known as cartel conduct. They include: price fixing, when competitors agree on a pricing structure rather than competing against each other. sharing markets, when competitors agree to divide a market so participants are sheltered from competition.} Hypothetical scenario. The [PL club X} board agree to loan young players on condition they are paid a promotion bonus of £x million on promotion. If the club is not top 10 they withdraw the player and put in a top 2 team in January to ensure the bonus payment. Is this ethical? Not in my book. It is a form of match fixing. I think he is a good player who would have learnt a lot, same as Whitaker not strong enough. Might have built up, mate reckons ManU think highly of him.

Yes. The decision made by Chelsea got Charlton relegated and possibly Bowyer sacked. It is not the place of the Chelsea board or Peter Cech to make these decisions mid season. He was scoring goal for Charlton and it could be argued he went backwards at Cooper's Swansea for whom he never scored. Chelsea and Man utd are loading the dice to maintain the status quo at january.

Agreed. I think we need 2 more new players. There are still 3-4 we could move on.

We should not forget that these players are very young and not fully rounded. This si why Swansea were able to get them into the club. Goykeres needed and extra season to find his groove.
