| Anti-Semitism in Football 22:18 - Jul 27 with 5968 views | Kerouac | Let's kick it out shall we... I for one want to know what our club intends to do about it. I am proposing that before every game, after the obligatory kneeling, our players turn towards the fans and beat their chests with their right fist over their heart for 10 seconds. Do my fellow Jacks agree? If not, why not?

You don’t know how you feel about players taking the knee?

| Anti-Semitism in Football on 13:05 - Jul 28 by jackrmee | ps. The whole antisemitism thing is a sham too. People are called anti-Semites for speaking out against and criticising Israelis, simply because they are Jews. It's separate though. If you say Israel are *insert expletive*, you get labelled an anti-Semite. Oh I can feel myself getting dragged into something again here. I think I'd better just keep an eye on the footy only board! |
Antisemitism is a sham? You know they are the most persecuted group in the entirety of human history right?

This post is exactly the reason why our club should be making a stand against Anti-Semitism. Unbelievable comment, ridiculous.

| Anti-Semitism in Football on 13:00 - Jul 28 by jackrmee | Aye it was started for that reason, but the league and UK have made it pretty clear that the players are "standing up to racism" now and not supporting BLM. It's stated by commentators during every kneeling. I don't think any clubs have anything related to BLM linked to the knee now. |
You mean that they started off on the BLM bandwagon, complete with BLM symbols in the top corner of our T.V. screens and then when they realised how deeply unpopular BLM are they had a rebrand...and you expect people to swallow that?!? Do you think the general public are stupid? As the criminal activity of BLM has been exposed now aren't we due very public apologies from all who subjected football fans to this nonsense? If not why not? If the club can make a stand for BLM for 2 years straight why can't they do something for the rising problem of anti-semitism? It doesn't cost the anything.

I'm sorry, I thought you were asking me how the players feel about taking the knee. Express yourself more clearly, learn to write basic English, and then such misunderstandings won't happen. I will answer your question when you answer mine (as I posed my question first and my question is the point of this thread). "Do you support our club making a gesture before every game to fight the rise of Anti-Semitism? If not, why not?

Would you? "It is a type of racism yes but the kneeling gesture was started by Colin Kaepernick (who is half-Jewish, ironically) as a protest against America's institutional racism against Black people and was quickly adopted by the BLM movement. It was de rigueur during the summer of 2020 when Leftist movements ripped up American cities, burning, looting, rioting, murdering in the run up to the 2020 election. Remember that? ...and was then adopted by those in this country that wished to copy (remember the ripping down of statues and the riot in Bristol where our poor old police officers were attacked?) and eventually by football. The kneeling gesture was very much about BLM and skin colour. Anti-Semitism was never mentioned. In fact, in New York, Jewish people were violently attacked by BLM for their political beliefs. BLM did not give any of the money they fraudulently obtained to any anti-semitic charities either (they did give a little to charities set up for Black people in America, but only after they had bought themselves a great big mansion in Malibu each first)."

I don’t need to take my time. Anti-semitism is both real and abhorrent. I have no idea why you felt the need to ask me that? I don’t agree with Jackarmee’s take on that. My understanding of what he said isn’t that anti-semitism is a sham but more the definition of it. We all think of the Nazi definition of it (clearly NOT a sham) but it encompasses the criticism of Israel now.

So you don't agree they should do anything for BLM, but they should for Jews? I'm sure you'll find that SOME Jews do as much bad stuff as SOME BLM. THey aren't all bad obviously, but you seem to be against BLM. Are they all bad?

I don't mean it's a sham. I mean that it's not applied correctly. I feel that Israel are evil. That doesn't mean I'm anti-Semitic, but that's what I get all the time when I mention it. Israel is a Jewish state, so people seem to think that I hate Jews or I'm saying all Jews are bad when I say Israel are bad. That's what I mean by anti-Semitism is a sham. It's mixed up. Not right.

Israel all evil ? The people live in a democracy which their Arab neighbours do not . There is absolutely a link between ant semitism and Israel . Their are inextricably linked. It was set up as a Jewish homeland and by that Jews who were being persecuted as they have been for millennia . Most Jews support Israel and quite understandably as the land was a place where they could live without persecution.. Now,the fact Arab land was seized is another matter but Israel is surrounded by countries that want to eliminate them.

Do you know what I think? I think that if a poster had put up a comment that racism was a "sham" on a thread about BLM. I think you would be disassociating yourself from that poster and his views, pronto, in a manner that you are not doing in this instance. This double standard is of course, the reason why our club, and football in general should be doing something to educate the masses on the subject of anti-semitism. As a supporter of BLM you should agree with that, if your reasoning was rational and consistent.

Surely ,it is self evident Blacks are easier to offend that Jews . It is easier to discriminate against Jeishbpeople purely because of their skin colour. The easiest body of people to insult.

But anti-semitism is on the rise in the UK today, no? The UK statistics are false? Are you saying tat anti-semitism is consigned to Nazi Germany, that it has now gone away (despite the rise of attacks on Jewish people recorded in the UK & Europe) and these days the real problem is that people criticising Israel are accused of anti-semitism falsely? This is a problematic thread as it turns out. I do not think we would be getting these kind of responses on an anti-racism thread. Do you?

Has our club not been supporting BLM for 2 years. Yet you think asking our club/players to do something to show their condemnation of anti-semitism (in the context of rising anti-semitism and attacks on Jewish people throughout the UK & Europe) is too much to ask for yes? How does anyone, who supports the kneeling for BLM, square that one away in their head?

Israel are "evil"(!!!). That, my friend is an incredible statement, incredible. if somebody made a statement like that about BLM they would have been drummed off the board, banned...you'd have had all the 'intelligentsia' howling for your blood....but I digress... ...more evil than any other country on the planet? What makes them uniquely evil?

Almost beyond comment. You need to speak to some Jewish families whose kinfolk were involved in the holocaust, unless you doubt the holocaust like many even now . Take a trip to Berlin and checkout the nearby firmer concentration camp at Sachsunhausen . Forget Auchwitz. It’s too harrowing. Arabs live in Israel and are not taken away to be gassed or slaughtered and dumped into a pit minus their gold teeth
