As far as football is concerned we are a different country.
We have the same government because it was forced on us in the past.
I have the same concerns worries as people in similar jobs and social strata as my friends in Romania, Portugal, Spain, Hungary, France etc.
We really don’t have the same mentality about most things .. .Wales does not define itself by ruling waves or conquering others.
What you describe is a quisling attitude to foreign dominance and control. Were that not the case Scotland would not have to seek permission from Westminster which will always be controlled by England's MPs.
As for sporting entertainment I gained far more satisfaction from watching the finals of the rugby 7s. |

Overwhelming majority in South Wales don't speak Welsh, I did it to GCSE but chose other subjects at A level and due to my own laziness, did not continue with it.
Of course, we have different sides in sport, but that's like saying that Swansea and Cardiff or Barry Town and Newport County are different due to different sides
How far back do you want to go ? The Gvnt was forced upon us ? Do you really think people I represent in Inner City Manchester have any more love of this Gvnt that people in Neath or Swansea do ? I have more in common with some of the people I represent and the way we were both brought up than some posh person in Pennard. The similarities between the South Walians and the North West of England, Sheffield, Liverpool, etc are huge.
Can you honestly say most people in England (apart from the idiots going on about '2 World Wars and one world cup' define themselves by 'conquering people ? Its a stupid football chant, the same pathetic one we have about England being full of s.. and 'typical England, always cheating' I cringe when our fans sing it, same as decent England fans will cringe when the War Songs come out.
It is not a foreign dominance, we are part of the UK. I've been welcomed in the Manchester area, made a lot of lovely friends and was deeply affected by the bomb in the Manchester Arena as we had been there the week before and I knew people who were there (thankfully ok)
I ran the Manchetser 1/2 marathon the week after, and the warmth from the people was incredible.

I want the same protection as a Black man Asian or Jew because we are all equal. Your experience may have been around a coffee machine in legal offices or from 500 metres.
Swansea chants are not racist as they are not personal. English ones are in my opinion. In the case of black people 95% or more might find monkey slurs offensive. I want England to lose like you want Cardiff to lose. Both are our neighbours . It is football culture. Swansea belong in the English leagues because the club were close to being founding members. It is a legal entitlement and any moves to boot the club out would be discriminatory on the basis of race / ethnicity.
Some English fans suggest this because they are bigots. Some English fans use racial slurs which are tolerated by the authorities and TV stations. You can abuse Welsh fans a footballers as long as they are not Welsh Asian or Black . I belief Swansea city players have been disproportionately more targeted due to the propensity of sheep slurs at stadiums. Think about it. Cabango, Whittaker, Williams and Dhanda in one season 4 separate events. Name another team that has had this level of abuse. | |
