There is an an article on the BBC reporting that we cannot compete with the majority of clubs in our League. States we have to do things a different way.
I thought I read something on here recently that stated we have the 7th or 8th biggest budget in the division.

I havent forgotten where we came from but I do know back then we werent selling players to premier league clubs for 12m neither did we have a stroke force valued at £25m .

Yes he states there is a misconception that we are one of the big spenders can't remember exact wording. Because we are an ex PL club we don't get parachute payments the majority of clubs don't get them Russ.
Even goes onto say that's why we couldn't attract other managers. Coming out with this nonsense one game into the season is crazy.

Bennett leaving along with getting fringe players out is very much needed not only to bring replacements in but to cut the wage bill down also.
Regardless of what the wage bill is now, the weekly outgoings need to be cut a bit on top of bringing players in... Its the reality of where we are as the club, unreasonable predictions and demands from fans is not going to wash with the more understanding of fans.

Isn't it sensible for him to say that we have to be careful about what we spend in the transfer market and play down what we can afford. Alternative is saying that we are doing well financially, are able to compete with other teams in the league thereby pushing the fee of any player coming in up ?

Not with anyone I know, most were happy with football being back and being able to go and watch games. I think there was disappointment that we didn't get the 3 points but ultimately happy that we actually picked up a point on our travels on the first game......there have been times in our past that games like these over the years that we have come away with a loss.
Its a new season, fans are more than likely upbeat and happy just to smell the grass again. There does seem to be a fair bit of downbeat on here by some, I think the fact that some can't or won't go to games has really sucked the enjoyment and happiness out of them and want to bring others down to their way of thinking.

Its easy to follow from far away, social media allows you to do that from the comfort of your own home.
He bothers because he enjoys having arguments with posters, he needs it and he thrives on it..... Its what gets him up every morning and keeps him from going to bed at night.
Those who have since left us and are no longer with us would give anything to go and support our boys, smell the grass and chant in support of our boys on the pitch.......what they would give and I fully respect that.

If it winds you up, it winds you up. The fan base I was with in the Petty era certainly wouldn’t be happy to be relegated and allowing a manager to do what he likes with the club when it’s completely underperforming.
Wouldn’t stand for it. If that upsets you and you want to call me a troll then go for it. But deep down I’m sure a lot of people will agree with me.

If that compares to someone willing to accept mediocrity and the club suffer as a result just because they don’t want to lose face and call out a manager then yes, I put myself firmly above them in the fan stakes - regardless of where I live.

Not sure who has said it does mean something? It simply means what you think and believe, it’s why these places exist - for fans to talk about the club and the goings on.
As I said, in all my almost 30 years supporting the club, I’ve never been so disillusioned with some of our fans as the last 3 seasons. It’s been shocking.
