This. No good saying everything is fine in the garden again because it’s not. And there were glimpses of our suicidal play for all to see there again today.

3 points away from home, plus a clean sheet......as Margaret Thatcher once said - “Rejoice”.

Negative? Or just realistic? I know which one it is.

Spot on. Just shows though when we do go in front and teams have to come at us, how we can break. Another day, we’d have been at least two up a half time. Still buzzing, brilliant, brilliant away day.

Certainly didn’t seem like that from where I was. They came back into it, weather was stupidly hot and we came back into it the more the half progressed.

Obviously, watching on live stream doesn’t give you the feel for the heat which I’m sure was exhausting. But their comeback in the second half seemed more down to our reverting to type than fatigue or a revived Blackpool.

Will watch the highlights later but I really think it shows what we’re capable of.

Their penalty was a result of our farming about. No need for it. We have enough talent to kill teams When we go direct,we score . Merci Monsieur .unselfish Obefemi. Fisher has improved as he is more dominant. Good to see. When under pressure right at the end he booted the ball mikes downfield . Hoofed it. Right decision. Very loud support Fire fighters there lovely lads

One win at this stage turns the situation around, this is why there was no panic from myself and hopefully this will kick us on. A bit of action in the next few weeks in the transfer window can really help kick us on for sure, really starting to understand now why some people want the window closed before the start of the season. To repeat, superb 3 points 👠

Russell Martin is an inexperienced coach. 2 seasons under the belt of average success. Last week's grief will have had an effect on his thinking. He will get brickbats abuse and ridicule even off experience coaching rivals. He will require a thick skin and get trolled like he was last week. I regard these as experiences and growing pains. He himself will understand what works and what does not work within the overall philosophy. "Playing around at the back" is actually low risk when players think for themselves and are fully trained. They do not need to be superstars. If reverting to type consistently does not work I assume Martin is smart enough to adapt. So should his representatives on the pitch Grimes and leaders Allen and Darling. There is nothing to suggest he is not intelligent enough.

‘Playing around at the back didn’t seem low risk’ even to the ‘superstars’ of Man Utd last night. It’s boring to watch teams don’t seem to pressure us as they know we will just continue to fanny about with it until we misplace a pass.

But the longer balls yesterday proved a point. Well, three.

Keith The most encouraging thing yesterday was when in injury time Fish collected the ball. He then fell to his knees ,as is his right, got up slowly then booted the ball downfield as far away as possible from danger. Decision might have saved a late equaliser .

That pass into a closely marked CDM (de Gea to Eriksen, Fisher to Grimes) is a nightmare. It cost Man U yesterday and it cost us a few times last season. The ball has to be played with pace so making it more difficult to control. The CDM has to come towards the ball, and beat his marker to the ball, making in harder still to control. He then has 3 choices normally - to his right back, to the left back (Grimes's preferred choice because of his left footedness) or back to the keeper. Of those the only safe pass is back to the keeper - which is sort of pointless. I'm quite happy normally playing it around at the back. That particular pass is daft though.
