Good to see Fulton putting in a shift and playing an important role, between Benda, Fulton and Cooper getting minutes we look a much improved side.

Who would have thought a couple of weeks ago that our match at Burnley would be a top 6 battle. EDIT I didn't realise there were a couple of midweek matches that could push us out of the top 6. If you are in tight situations and being press by a number of players you need to make a quick decision as to what you are doing to do with it to negate the press before the ball gets anywhere you. Got there in the end but made it harder than it should have been. COYS

Martin told to reduce cost by cutting off some of top earners who happen to be some of the only players with championship experience. Or just a difference of opinions. Or something else, do tell?

Piroe isn't getting enough service up top on his own, he's having to try and create his own opportunities. Decent win though which keeps the run going, Darling played his part today along with Fults, I've done a bit of nit picking above, but I'm happy with the result, 3 pts off the top excellent turnaround in fairness.

We'll play better than that and lose this season. We probably did against Sheff Utd. We were much the better side in the first half but odd as it sounds with a 2-0 lead we didn't really make the most of it. There were loads of gaps appearing and we just didn't seem to want to exploit them. It underlined the fact that the team lacks pace and Piroe cannot play upfront without someone like Paterson behind him. Second half Sunderland tightened up, put us right under the press (more the second ball press) and we looked wobblier than a Russian bridge. We had no out ball until Oba came on and spent far too long unable to get away from our own final third. Not sure if I'd have made the same tactical choices that RM did. Latibeaudiere is not a RWB under any circumstances. Still, a valuable three points and overall a battling performance.

A few dodgy moments in second half when we started fannying about at the back but we saw the game out A few individuals stood out Fulton and Manning nice to see Oli get his goal. I might be wrong but I'm sure this is the first time in 2 years since we won 4 games in a row long may it continue onwards and upwards COYS

| Swansea City v Sunderland : Matchday Thread 2022/23 ITS TODAY ! on 18:46 - Oct 8 with 1277 views | jojaca | Hard fought win in the end, Sunderland were one of the better footballing sides we have faced this season. I was surprised they took off Patrick Roberts who look like he could make something happen. My only nit pick is that we give them far too much space down the flanks and was twitchy at times with Cabango or Wood dealing with their wingers. I thought Ntcham gave us impetus when he came on and flow of the game became more evenly balanced. I think Piroe had one of his worst games in the shirt and maybe fatigue played a part. | |

Piroe didn't have a any ball and nobody seemed likely to give him the ball, I'm disappointed for him, but I'd never single him out today, or any of the other's, generally in that 2nd half we couldn't keep the ball and we certainly couldn't pass our way out of situation's and that's testament to the way Sunderland pressed us in that 2nd half and controlled the ball they had, decent side who lacked a cutting edge, In my opinion of course.
