I watched the game live on tv, I thought Brazil was hard done by, although I didn't think Peru had deliberately let any goals in at the time.
I put a list up before of world cup winners and who in my option was the best team that year, no England as Portugal was the best team in 66, Hungary in 54, Brazil in 82 etc, no real standouts in 78 but it might say Holland yet again like in just like in 74. |  |

England weren't on the same level as Brazil or a few other teams out there, Moore played every game so did Banks until the Quarters, there is no comparison to the decisions and scheduling in 66.

England beat Portugal 2-1 in the semi final after making them move base at the last minute to give England a home game, they travelled on the milk train, no sleep, no training, it was same old England up to their tricks.
João Havelange a Brazilian said it would have been a different scoreline if Portugal had played at Goodison and that it wasn't sporting and fair and that was a widely held view.
