Instead of insults, how about a discussion on what we think we know. 1. Did the said person tell the truth to the Yanks about the situation with the Trust prior to the Sale? 2. Did the said person tell the Trust they were selling prior to the actual sale? 3. Did the said person tell the truth about a certain committee meeting which became the subject of a Court case? 4. Did the said person tell the truth about the sacking of certain directors?

No but ultimately neither will this path we are on now. I remember that Friday before the Walsall game well, as well as Saint basically saying that if clubs can't finance themselves then they shouldn't be in business By the time the 40th anniversary of that comes around, I fear where we will end up with these owners.

That debt was put on the club. The debt here is put on the owners, they are taking it on themselves in the form of equity. You can say what you like about them, but the accusation you cannot level at them is money putting in. They have factually put more personally sourced income into the club than any other owner, and written it off so the club doesn’t owe them. The reaction to them has been ridiculous, but only to absolve a certain someone of culpability for where we are.

No. Any manager appointment to get what some are thinking is achievable would be luck. Even after this disastrous window, we will still make the same mistakes next Jan and even in the summer............its been the same mistakes over the last 7 years.

Quite obviously yes. Any competent manager could get this side into the top 6, depending on how much more damage Russell does of course. There comes a point where I will eventually be out of reach this season. As for treated any different, no I don’t think they will be treated any different. Same excellent backing regardless of who is in charge.

Ex pros and journos are just as thick as some fans unfortunately. I remember ex pros and journos slating us for sacking Garry Monk, writing Cooper off at Forest etc etc They have a narrative and they spin it. The way the cosy up to Martin because they know they will get their regular sound bites is nauseating.

Think many are fearing that we could get sacked into a relegation battle. Should we go down, we would lose many of our squad seeing us struggle in League One, as clearly the current owners will not support the manager ( whoever it is) with money to sign players. The downward spiral could then continue. Worrying times with these owners

Surely whichever side of the Martin in or out debate a person is one, they’ll perceive things differently and spin it to their view whether that’s knowing or unknowingly ?

The pros and journalists have little idea though maybe Mitchlemoore and one or two who have local knowledge but mostly they have no clue. The facts are they have taken no money out. Yes the window was very disappointing. But without that 16 million invested by Silverstein where would we be. I cannot recall Jenkins Morgan or anyone else putting in that sort of money but that was ok they were local. I can guarantee if we did spend and ended up in trouble the same people would be shouting the odds. [Post edited 5 Feb 2023 15:38]

It’s odd. It’s been odd ever since he arrived. Almost like an alternate reality people are forced to live in. Apparently now we have to pretend that the owners who have spent more than any other owners in our history… don’t financially support. Apparently that’s more palatable than facing up to the fact that a manager has had 80+ games of leeway, spending millions of pounds on players he doesn’t even appear to rate and making the most basic of managerial errors week after week while adopting a brand of football that could put a glass eye to sleep. I’m sure it’s the first issue though…

His inexcusable excuses for the lack of window activity. I did go on the radio yesterday to explain. There is a link 👠From 41 minutes for those interested 👠https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/p

In fairness Martin has been given money by these owners, and he's wasted it. The last 2 loan signings were treated shockingly. We have more than enough to avoid the bottom 3, who are pretty poor. Sadly Martin's time is up at the end of the season

They seemed reasonable enough explanations though, they weren’t excuses. Just a discussion and explanation on where things went wrong. He acknowledged processes could have been better and putting things in place so they don’t happen again. I don’t see what is so bad about that. Assuming they don’t happen again of course. The explanations he gave regarding some players not wanting to come here is just football. We both know that happens, Ogbene being one such recent example after seeking information from his friend. Their two main jobs as owners is to ensure we are running solvently and ensuring we have a competitive side for the brief. They are doing both those things.

After a dozen transfer windows with him at the helm I don’t buy the blaming of others not having the ability this transfer window. That’s poor management on his behalf.

I'm not daft enough to believe people are queueing up to buy us. I'm not daft enough to think we deserve to be in the EPL. I don't even think the Yanks will sell but they are making bad mistakes. Not helping the team in the last window...mistake. Not backing Martin because they think he'll fail...it's still a mistake because if that's what they think they needed to sack him. Misleading us fans...mistake whichever way you cut it. What I wish for is some honesty about the situation.

So what happened?. 5 options. a) They had the money but simply could not close out the deals ,The players Martin wanted did not want to come. b) They had the money but did not want to use in in January unless there were some distressed sales at knock down prices. There were none c) They had the money but did not want to give it to Martin. They had given Fisher, Darling, Sorinola, Patterson Obafemi and none of them were first 11. Fisher and Sorinola are not up to standard and Ofamfemi and Patterson appear to have commitment issues. d) They did not have the money but just said they did for some reason. e) They did not have the money and want to use the Obafemi money to pay off some of their £16m loan. (presumed £11m remaining in the CLN) As far as I am concerned a shocking transfer window is more Sorinola and Fisher or a Barry McKay. Only 17 games left . Martin lives on through the form of players he signed. Fisher, Wood, Darling, Patterson Sorinola and the academy players he has blooded Cooper, Cullen, Cabango, Congreve. According to Levien Martin could not convince players he wanted to play for him. This could be a problem in the future.
