Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Whitraker appears a convenience type of player, he undoubtedly has talent but he does appear to go through the basics in 2nd or 3rd gear until he gets the ball.

I think he would fit better in the 3-4-2-1 formation, one of the 2 behind the striker but I would still worry for the full back on the side that he plays.

I think Whittaker looks half hearted. But hope I am wrong.

Completely agree, but as I said earlier, it’s just too soon to judge.

Rangers must have seen something in him and he was one of the best players in league one. I wouldn’t be rushing to start him just yet though.

Agree here, we need to dilute him into things slowly.

It's a jump from L1 to the champ and we shouldn't expect too much to soon. The overall standard in the championship is better than the Scottish league......i have no doubt that he would perform up there most weeks and 2M for the size of Rangers, knowing how football purs over them and Celtic, I have no doubt they would get a good return on the 2M if they signed him.

The champ takes more prisoners than north of the border. Gone a bit off tangent but hope you can see where I am coming from.

Whittaker's best performances this season came playing through the middle. We stuck him out wide where the ball was taking an age to get there.

Several times he was in space calling for the ball, right in front of us, but mostly grimes turned and went the other way. It must be frustrating.

Grimes could be a very good player but he's flattering to deceive us and has for a while.

There is mo doubt we struggled to beat Blackpool, we needed an own goal and that is poor whatever the reasons. They had 10 men with 10 players out, they ate bottom too. Yet they matched us and maybe should have scored at least one more.

Frankly,Winston s post is exactly correct ,word for word.
It IS down to him

Sorry up arrowed you which was a huge mistake, anyway while I'm here I'll correct you, Winstons post is opion only which does not make it correct unless it fits the agenda, he's more than welcome to back it up with facts if he so wishes.

Agree about Grimes , very arely gets caught on the ball and his awareness is good but I can understand why his passing stats are so high , short one twos passes which rarely prenetrate the oppositions defence , for me last night Fulton was the one looking to drive forward and I would have kept him on for Grimes . Blackpool could have settled for a draw but they kept throwing players forwasrd with numbers . I think subbing Sorinoiola for Cullen was a mistake his opposite numeber killed him for pace a few times , the subs last night to me looked likes an acknowlegement of the previous game with the cock ups made then .

Ultimately the first half really made it difficult for the 2nd half......we should have been out of sight at half time but the finishing was very poor.

We all knew what was going to possibly come when we went in 1-0 at half time after seeing so many chances spurned 1st half........it was no surprise.

Really not sure why the first half performance is getting so much praise. We were only marginally less rubbish than them before we scored and not particularly improved after it.

Grimes has ability. Few posters on this board have been as relentlessly critical of him than me and even I won't deny that. It's one of the major reasons why I'm harder on him than other players.

The vast majority of his performances simply don't justify the praise he gets, or the amount of minutes on the pitch. He can be creative. He can play good attacking passes. But when you see him stop and turn on the ball time and time and time again when there are ample opportunities to play those passes it's maddeningly frustrating.

Jumped up nerds throwing themselves in to defend him based on statistics are a nuisance too.

Sorinola may have had his best game in a Swans shirt but for large chunks of the game his crosses were woeful (just less woeful than most). His crosses were largely poor & he scuffed more than one attempt at shooting & one touch passes. My fear is that someone may believe that he could be a longer term solution to our right back problem.

Manning was woeful & it looked like his mind is elsewhere giving the ball up too often with wayward passes.

Cabango gave up his customary gifts to the opposition with more than one brainfart. Wood & Darling also failing to inspire any confidence. Fisher had a decent game. The high risk low reward playing out from the back routine causes as much discomfort for the crowd as it clearly does for the players just not suited to playing it. It actually achieves the square root of sweet fa. The less said about Latib the better.

In midfield Cooper continually ran up blind alleys & missed a sitter. Grimes was just Grimes & Fulton did well until his head bump. Cundle continually tried to drive us forward with pace but opportunities never really opened up for him, thought he had a decent game.

Up front Piroe did ok but should have scored when he hit the post, he’s just not getting any help as the sole focal point. The change in starting formation did him no favours. Anyone who was there could see that Whittaker is physically weak in possession & when a half chance of a shot opened up he fluffed his lines. He clearly needs more minutes to acclimatise to the pace & physicality at this level.

Decent summary.

I agree with all of it expect Cundle who I thought (as normal) was poor.

If Sorinola's is here next season who ever hires him has no idea about football, a truly awful full back.

I also agree with this post.

There was a reason that he ending up staying with us when he had 6 months left on his contract......he could have negotiated a nice deal elsewhere if those offers were forthcoming.

If he was as good as some suggest then he would be currently playing Premier league, if he was that good then there would have been teams on with just 6 months left of his contract.

I think people see what they want to see with Sorinola. Is he a great player? No, not even close. Is he awful? No, not even close to that either. On his day he's just about a capable squad option for a Championship side, which is probably what he'd be for us if Russy wasn't allergic to pace.

I’m still not getting the hype around Whittaker. Appreciate it’s way too early to judge, but that goes for bigging him up as well as writing him off.

He was thrown to the wolves against Birmingham, but hasn’t convinced me either way in his other two sub appearances. Two lovely balls last night, wasteful a couple of times as well.

I thought Cundle had a good first half.

Whittaker needs to play games to see what he's all about the boy hasn't had a chance, he's needs to play 4 or 5 games to see what he can offer. so how you can say that you're not getting the "hype" is a bit demeaning towards a player who hasn't been given a fair crack, in my opinion.

Well, that could well be down to the fact that Martin has drained the will out of him, he was flying down at Plymouth only to be brought back [obviously against Martin's blessing] to end up being a bit part player, he needs to play and Martin needs to have patience in him, not saying he will become a player, but until he has a fairer crack than he's having we'll never know.

Disagree, he's come off an excellent spell playing for Plymouth and is now back to where the Manger didn't want him, which Whittaker obviously sensed it, if he didn't already know, loads of players have made the step up from league one and continued their good form.

He needs to start, there's very little harm in him doing so, we ain't troubling the top 3 and I doubt we'll be in danger of the drop this season.

Any win in the Championship is a valuable three points and that includes a home win against the bottom team.

We know full well that clubs at the bottom can beat the top sides in this league. There’s little to choose between say Blackburn and Blackpool.

Last night we played well in the first half but got nervous in the second half. There’s some anxiety at the moment as we’ve been on a bad run but things can change quickly. We look a mid table side to me at the moment and a top ten finish will be a decent return.

This bashing of the players and manager is pathetic though. Dr Winston has weighed in to just about every manager at our club since Bryan Flynn. Apart from Kenny Jackett. He loved him. 😂
