Stoke v Swans : The biggest test so far for Matos11th Dec 2025 08:00 The goals are flying in from distance this past few weeks, and some have been spectacular, Liam Cullen adding to the collection on Tuesday with another strike. In fact the turnaround on shots on goal to the eye is quite breathtaking. Especially when the ball is hitting the back of the net.0
Stoke City v Swansea City : Latest News from the Indy 13th Dec 2025 09:15 Welcome to the Indy match day morning as we travel to Stoke City for an early kick off (12:30pm) in the EFL Championship. We’ve got the latest team news this morning on the game and comment from both camps.0

Substitutes: Andy Fisher, Josh Key, Jay Fulton, Melker Widell, Malick Yalcouye, Ishe Samuels-Smith, Kaelan Casey, Zeidane Inoussa, Adam Idah
Burgess and Key errors hand Stoke City the points13th Dec 2025 16:11 The Swans could have come away from this game with a point but two errors gave Stoke City the win today. And when there was opportunity to decrease the lead for half an hour in the second half the choices made were beyond poor. Adam Idah not acknowledging a decent travelling Swansea support didn’t go down well either at the end. Some would say the involvement of Josh Key and Cameron Burgess in this game was an error by Swansea head coach, Vitor Matos. Key especially.0

Winston should be nowhere near this board either his persistent trolling and poison He likes Key , loves him , ergo anyone that fussing him gets it Key is killing us Today he did it almost immediately Nobody defending this outstandingly inept footballer can be taken seriously Today , Matos made mistakes and he will learn Widdell starts
EOM off loaded Key disposed of to whoever would be dumb enough
Again , our full backs retreat defenders in the league but Burgess seems to be the scapegoat for some
We deserved a point today
That’s what should sting and no need for a “ fan” to continue genuine hate speech
Pathetic waster having a dig at his favourite targets. As usual.
A game about an hours drive from his house that he couldn't be bothered to go to. As usual.
Quoting your own words back at you isn't hate speech Perchy.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Key is by far the worse player we have had in a long time. The amount of games he has aloud teams to cross or score from his side. He needs taken out of the squad ASAP.

I’ve never hated any Swans players ever …..and I don’t hate Key , he’s just not good enough and just makes us a lot more vulnerable when he plays He shouldn’t be anywhere near the squad
Burgess is not immune from critism as well but Key has cost us so many games As soon as he came on Thomas was a different player. Key looked lost His passing was shocking and his defending doesn't exist. Can't blame Matos for this. But lessons learned. Casey or Parker as Sub instead I say

I'm not too disappointed, Stoke are a top six side and on another day we could have got something out of the game and we finished the strongest. Matos is still getting to know our players and the championship opposition, which will improve when he gets his support in this week. I was particularly pleased the way we kept going when 2-0 down a couple of weeks ago we would have completely caved in. A tough couple of games coming up but I am confident we can get a win on Friday, the stadium will be bouncing.

That was a tough one to take and we deserved more from the game 100%.
Progress is being made based on what I watched today despite the lapses. First half in particular we moved the ball forward quicker than we have for a long time and created chances. We did create a lot of chances to day which gives me hope things are going to get better from here on in. We looked lost at sea a few weeks back but are now looking competitive with more options, still a long way to go but progress for sure.
Pissed off with the loss but seen enough today to feel hopeful going forward.
Stoke is still a doghole with the most entitled fans for some reason? The ref caved in to constant pressure from the crowd today and did not look up to the task required for championship football yet IMO, he let Stoke get away with a lot today which was very frustrating.

The patterns of play are becoming more apparent but we need to be quicker doing them. That will hopefully come in time. Certainly more spine about us as you say.
Stoke were no great shakes and if we'd scored first we may well have gone on to win as they looked absolutely rattled when we pulled one back.

We need to cut out the silly mistakes and giving the ball away easily. The work rate of the players has visibly improved and there are positive signs, so its not all doom and gloom.

We are still overplaying unfortunately and when closed down we don’t have the physicality at times to get out of it. Our pockets were picked on several occasions today, Eom being a major culprit.
We still play this passing around the back but it’s plain to see we are trying to get forward quicker. I hope this improves as the season progresses. The ball has to get forward quicker when the opposers us and exploit the gaps. Didn’t happen enough today.

True Eom I doubt is 9 stone Whatever ability he has is negated because he’s so weak Absolutely one to offload A ludicrous buy We need to stop messing Widdell arpind He’s got guys , pace and is reasonably strong for his size It’s a physical league We can’t and shouldn’t play pretty
The commentator stated that the change of Galbraith to midfield had allowed Thomas the freedom to cause havoc . He did say in mitigation that we needed galbraiths nous in midfield to open up Stoke so he understood the change. We looked more threatening when Widdell came on also the ref did let a few fouls go for Stoke and was a bit more lenient to them . Injury time to my mind was also cut short just over7 mins but Prior to that Tymon went down with a head injury and that was at least 2 and a half mins that wasnt added on..

That last remark regarding added time should be looked into. 2 mins for Tyson takes it to 99’ and also the booking for wasting time at a throw in, another minute maybe and that’s 100’. Whistle went at 97’44”!! Some aspects of refereeing are difficult and are dependent on what the ref sees. Timekeeping shouldn’t be hard.

Just another example of the officials in this league are dreadful. Two absolute tools in the last two home games plus today

The energy levels are up visibly but we need to have physicality with it, a few of our players are out muscled and give the ball away far too much, time and again and need to stand up for themselves more I think key should be left out of squads after today and we desperately need to get a right back in January Casey could start more and Widell should start every game going forward We did keep going until the end of the game which was good to see but it’s also unbelievable how every bounce ,second ball and deflection seems to fall to the opposition ,we get no luck at all ,surely it has to change You can see the change Matos has made to the way we play already and his coaches coming in can only be a positive
