Ap Iorweth stated they wanted quota for migrants to fill skill shortages. Presumably the "unskilled" quota would be quite small and we could then send the problem migrants back to where they came from which is Kent.
They have some bleeding hearts for sure but that would be dealt with by the quota. Sioned Williams is caring but too over emotional to people in need. We cannot afford to be a global free lunch.
Immigration is not devolved . In my opinion we have a welfare state that I have paid into for 40 years. Late comer to the escalator cannot just jump on at a timing if their choice and take the benefits people like me gave paid for. Turkiye has the right approach to Asylum seekers. You come as a 'temporary guest' and return once the crisis over and take your family with you whatever the circumstances. No citizenship no benefits unless you have earned them.
The Free Speech Union is funded by US groups and led by Toby Young a notable Brexiteer. I hope the will look at the free speech limitations place by Anti Semitism rules. I suspect they will not go there .
I migration like bet zero is designed for stable conditions we had on the 1990s. Law are slow to react to a rapidly changing world.

When I wrote “inspired”, I was thinking more in terms of the general spirit of Senedd policy, which I felt might influence South Wales Police. However, although policing is a reserved matter, I have seen it argued that there is a “jagged edge” between devolved and reserved responsibilities, leading to a distinctive Welsh policing context even though formal control remains with Westminster. I believe the Welsh legislative framework regulating certain responsibilities of public bodies would still apply to the four “territorial police forces" in Wales. Relevant here would be the Public Sector Equality Duty brought in by section 149 of the Equality Act, 2010 and the way this is applied in the Principality. Wales has gone further than England with regulations (The Equality Act 2010 (Statutory Duties) (Wales) Regulations 2011) that impose additional duties on Welsh public bodies to operationalise equity. These duties include carrying out equality impact assessments for all major policies and assessing effects on groups with protected characteristics. I would hypothesize that the guidance to log "anti-Islam hostility" would need to be compliant with those regulations. Probably we would need a public law specialist to advise whether this is correct.
Edit: A bit of checking suggests that the above is correct. The Welsh specific equality duties do apply to police forces in Wales, because police forces are listed authorities under Schedule 19 of the Equality Act 2010, and the Welsh Regulations apply to all such listed authorities operating in Wales.
