We were decent first half but Wrexham came out second half with a different attitude, we didn't have enough attacking sense in the game for me, first half Wrexham nulled our attack with players behind the ball and second half we lacked the pace and intent to create on the break, Matos shouldn't be happy with our second half attacking efforts we had chance's which were either easily dealt with or were shot attempts straight at their keeper, Vipotnik had decent chance, but I'll forgive him for that, he did well to get to the ball. | | | |

For a lot of them it's because they spent so much previous time doing it they almost have to reprogramme their brains to think otherwise.
You see it all the time with Fulton. As impressive as his performances are, it will only take one average one before they're all off slagging him off again, or pretending that it's only recently he's been playing well despite his about 300 games for the club. It's almost a reflex action.
Vague hints of it coming through with Vipotnik as well. People turning on him really quickly. I'll be expecting a Jack247 comeback if he goes another game or two without a goal. |
Vipotnik openly stated how missing pre season when he signed for us
had a massive impact on his performances. There were Jimmy Gilliganesque
flashes for me to think next season he will be a handful..... with little expectation
he was fantastic so this season with the best window in years I'm thinking
if he stays we got a serious chance of top 6. Then a niggly injury disrupts
his pre season on top of all the media speculation. He just needs games for
match fitness and sharpness thought he was looking much better at derby.
Maybe serious offers haven't come in as teams know we got switched on
owners and won't be mugged off anymore.

Was Monga not available for this game. Seemed to me that we lacked that sparkle or cutting edge and pace that was needed to break this deadlock. Agree that yesterday our midfield players all seemed much of a much and needed an obvious outlet whereby that would have given Wrexham something different to think about. When we need to try and be more offensive at home in tight games, as good a start to the season that Fulton has had, I don't think he has enough offensively in his locker to be starting. | | | |

I thought Just was decent when he came on.
Not every team will nullify the Swans. Thats what Parkinson did, we made him think as opposed to the opposition believing they can role us over. | |

They doubled up on the wingers and didn't commit toomany men forward in the press hoping to catch us on the break, think it was all in all a very cagey game, rotation of the team given the congested fixtures, don't think either team played their best starting eleven hoping to keep the game tight and then bring on players they thought could be more effective offensively while keeping the defence solid or in our case more experienced, the effect for us of bring Stamenic meant we became a little weaker defensively while bringing Cabango on for the inevitable up and under football to Moore made us less composed on the ball with the lack of Lissah ultimately meaning Opoku and others not being supplied quick enough that being said the break down the left resulting in Vipotnik's chance which has opened many a team on another day would have hit the back of the net as they pushed on the space in behind them opened up.
To be fair to Just, Widell and Yeo had some good surging runs at their defence but that break just didn't go our way maybe holding onto the ball too long getting crowded out although you could say they had rode a number of dubious challenges weak refereeing and yet when the opposition were crowded out they fell down instantly, lot to be said for going down early in challenges although we did on a number occasions to be given nothing.
I would say if Idah had gone down initially the ref would have to give a free kick, instead by going down late thinking he could reach the ball when through the ref was never going to give it but the contact and there was definite contact which was enough to slow him down.
As for letting things go a bit early in a game seems the norm now but the challenge on Key was a bookable one.
Not too unhappy with the draw we could have won it, they could have won it as both teams looked to nick the game.
I was a little surprised Yeo stayed on as changing both wingers has in the past been seen as the way to go to stretch teams at the back, we have seen at times both Opoku, Eom and Yeo tire towards the ends of games they started in and given Ronald's recent cameo I would have expected him to feature.
Cabango, Vipotnik, Just, Stamenic and Opoku coming on could one of Lissah, Idah, Widell,Fulton or Eom stayed on for the 90 minutes was it being a little too defensive? defensive | | | |

One of the points in the Indy report was that Wrexham actually did Vitor a service by providing him with a tactical headache to solve. There will probably be many teams that will try to do what Wrexham did - stifling our play. If as a result of the draw Vitor can come up with a few different ideas to solve the problem then it will have been a good thing.
And on the Wrexham support. Were they there ? If they weren't wearing red you'd assume not. Very quiet. And less than a thousand as well. | | | |

spot on report and summary of the game
The officials were meh, that early challenge on Key had booking written all over it the assistant referee in front of the West missed at least 3 offices and ignored an assault on Key in the second half
From early doors Parkinson was on the ear of the 4th official complaint about the free kicks whenever Wrexham fouled.
They did a job on us but as has been said another point still unbeaten and we sit on top of the table and still only one goal conceded in 5 games.
I suspect there were moans as Cabango replaced Lissah but with another game coming on Tuesday was this about rotation and giving Lissah a spell before possibly replacing Key who ran his socks off in the starting line up for Tuesday?
As the report mentions Matos has to work out how we overcome sides who come and nullify our play ar the .com.
We still have the likes of Iorpenda to come into the team who offers something different with his strong driving runs and I m sure Matos will work something out but in the meanwhile I'm enjoying the ride frustrated yes we didnt get more out of yesterday but relieved as this could have been a banana skin. | |

I watched a bit of Man City yesterday, they were happy to recycle possession for longer periods than us. They waited until they had either the possibility of a one on one or a bit of space out wide before stepping on the gas.
Matos says there is a lot to improve on and mentioned specifically the attacking play so he's onto it. |  |
